  Strange lighting

  Really bright bulbs over the bed and no lighting at all over the couch made for an uncomfortable space. Bit long in the tooth.

  Clean and Convenient

  Check-in was easy and efficient. It's always great to be greeted with a smile. The room was VERY clean and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was in working order. The water was hot and there was excellent water pressure. There was a nice variety of TV channels from which to choose. We were given a room on the second floor next to the stairwell, so access for getting outside was easy. The grounds were exceptionally clean, and there was plenty of space for walking the dog. I felt safe. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and I would definitely stay here again.

  Expected more from La Quinta

  We arrived to a room that was dirty. Junk and wrappers shoved behind the tv stand, with all appliances including the fridge unplugged. Also charged per dog for a room fee because "We are now a Wyndham." I wouldn't mind a fee if the room had been clean. We were there for three nights. The single elevator was very slow and there was a couch in the hall right near the elevator that restricted the flow of people (and many dogs) in and out.

  Hotel needs some TLC

  Smooth check in. Room was large and met our needs. The room was worn out and it was obvious this was a designated pet friendly room, evidence of male dog lifting his leg on the door frames and furniture. Not clean at all. Every surface in the room needed to be cleaned. The room was run down and dirty. Breakfast was ok. Parking was convenient. Just a hotel that is in need of renovation and serious cleaning.

  Treated Zoey great

  The workers were very nice n good to Zoey. Rated a 3 because of ‘tired’ hotel, very poor TV reception, and guests above our room who walked the room (our ceiling) ALL night.

  Clean and the new version of La Quinta

  Was never a big fan of La Quintas. This one was really nice. It’s the new version of this hotel chain.

  Great Hotel

  Very clean and quiet and great location with lots of grassy areas for your pets. Had a great stay and our dogs enjoyed the visit too.

  VERY Nice Hotel

  A rather small hotel with great amenities right across the street from Walmart. ALL staff were very friendly and happy to interact with pets. While not a great outdoor area (no fenced dog park), it has reasonable green space for a hotel this size.

  For whatever reason we got a better price ($94) on this one than other La Quintas. Front staff was friendly and I enjoyed seeing many dogs in the dining room.

  Great dog-friendly experience!

  I’m not sure what the guy that gave one bone is talking about. I’ve kept horses on grass plots smaller than what’s available at this location. Clean rooms, excellent elevator, friendly staff, comfortable, firm bed. If I had to find something to gripe about the bed was really high off the floor. It was hard for Max to jump up to. We had to lift our chunky monkey up there.

  This is a place I could never recommend! The entire place stunk! Including the room. No place to walk the dog - miniature patch of grass. Room was not clean and the bed was less comfortable than the floor!! The interior decorating was obnoxious and the breakfast was powdered and packaged. Not a recommended dog friendly destination at all.

  Great place!

  Can't say enough about this place! Location, room, mattress and people were fabulous. I travelled with my 2 adult Belgian Malinois and enjoyed our 1 night stay. Room and entire hotel was modern and absolutely spotless.

  Great stay

  It was just me and my dog, we stayed here as we were driving through. It was a great choice. They did not give me any trouble checking in with my dog and reminded me there was a $20 pet fee (my dog is 60lbs). It’s a good location, right off the highway. If I am in Springfield again I will definitely stay here.

  Beds were so comfortable. Room was super clean. Staff is friendly, nice areas to walk the dogs with poop bags provided. Highly recommend if traveling with pets.

  Hard To Shower

  This place was mostly nice, but water pressure was very low. I don't know if that was temporary or not. Otherwise, room was comfortable and there were no dog-related issues.

  Clean and Comfortable for K9 and Us

  Good location, clean and comfortable with a lots of space and the perfect window for the K9 to “watch TV from”. He sat in that window for hours! One of his favorite activities.

  Average stay

  Our room was on the third floor. Actually there were several dogs on that and the elevator was a little slow. Used the stairs several times to rush our border collie outside to potty. Hotel was ok.

  Great La Quinta experience

  Our one-night stay at this property during our cross-country drive was perfect. Plenty of grass areas outside for pooches, and even a nice sidewalk to stretch those legs after a long day in the car.

  Love this hotel!

  Our puppies had a great time! There was plenty of room for the four of us and in spite of the many dogs I saw in the hotel... never really heard them from our room on the 4th floor. The hotel looks brand new, the rooms were clean, and all the staff were great!

  Great Place For Fido!!!

  This was such a great place to stay with our two little pups for no charge fee. We had a king size bed on the first floor great room with walk in shower. Hopefully people respect and pick up there dog poop so they continue this great service!! We will be back even if it's just to get away for a weekend. We will try to stay at other La Quintas if they are all like this.

  Location good although difficult to find takeout food

  No problem registering there. No deposit for dog requested. We and Leo (labradoodle) were treated with respect. Room clean, quiet, and comfortable. To-go breakfast was available

  Great room!

  Upon arrival we were greeted with the most wonderful staff at the desk! She gave us a large room on the ground floor next to the exit which made everything easy. There are a few grass areas, but the outside is not developed as much as other La Quintas for walking the dogs.

  Superb Lodging for Dog and Person

  Among the most comfortable rooms I encountered during my trip. Aside from space and comfort for Max, the Airedale, and for me, it was remarkably well decorated -- very much more pleasant than the usual travel lodging decor. Access to exercise areas for Max was excellent both for bio-breaks and for actual exercise -- both so necessary on a long road trip. Overall, one of the best travel lodging experiences I have had, and an excellent value proposition.

  No First Floor Rooms

  I stayed with my elderly dog at this hotel. I requested a first floor room because he can't climb stairs and needs to go out frequently. When I checked in to the hotel, I was given a third floor room. I protested and the clerk told me that the best she could do was a second floor room. As I expected my dog became distressed and needed to go out immediately. The elevator was slow to arrive so I pulled him down two flights of stairs which left him lame for the rest of the day. He is a large dog and I am on older person so I couldn't carry him. This was unacceptable.

  Need to have one floor or section of motel just for pets and owners. Not friendly at desk or any staff. Rooms are small. Second floor is not conducive to take your pet outdoors. No location outside for pets. Beds and pillows poor. Bedspread stained or dirty. Have stayed in other motels that are much more pet friendly. Will not use La Qunita again.

  Don’t Believe Photos

  Hotel had weird smell like it was fragrance trying to overpower a bad odor. Things broken in the room, shower dirty, couldn’t open emergency exit doors. Employee looked terrified of my friendly dog and charged a $20 fee even though site says no pet fee. Hotel was so bad I called and BringFido worked hard to move me to Candlewood. La Quinta did reimburse me for the rooms and pet fee, but huge inconvenience and false advertising.

  Great stop

  Was driving with my dog from Phoenix to Detroit. Stopped in Springfield, Illinois and stayed at La Quinta. Great experience. Staff was really nice. Paid $10 because my dog is 60 pounds. Bed was nice and big, so my dog loved it. Bathroom was wonderful. Breakfast was nice. Would stay here again.
