Pulled into venue at check-in time and the office was locked with closed sign. The general appearance was of a homeless shelter and very unkempt. Finally called number listed on BringFido site and got a seedy looking guy came down to sign us in. My wife refused to stay there and we were told there was no refund. Got a look at the inside of one room and I wouldn’t have my dog stay there. We left without checking in and figured we just learned a lesson. I would not recommend this location for my worst enemy. We just lost $150, and hope we don’t get charged for a dog fee as well since we left without checking in.

- SusanAug 25, 2019A Bit Sleezy, But...
... the property is along the river, and they have a freeman area with a garden and a gazebo and table and chairs by the water. The view is to forested areas on the other side of the river. The room was tiny, with laminate flooring. All rooms were on the first floor and can be driven up to (in the true motel style). I read reviews on google beforehand and they warned that the motel charges by the hour or by the night. Yes, they have a “siesta” rate, and an overnight rate. And yes they have to buzz you in to get to reception. But the managers were really nice, they have 2 (soon to be 3) dogs of their own (which I didn’t get to meet, sadly). The room had a TV, fridge, and microwave. Reception had coffee you could buy, as well as snacks.

Safe Stay: Motel Rideau has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Contactless check-in and check-out are available. Each room has a 24-hour gap period between stays, and hotel staff are required to wear masks.
