Both dogs and cats are permitted, but may not be left in the room unattended. Dog treats are available at the front desk and there is a pet relief area with a waste station on the north end of the building. Lovely property but you could hear everything. The toddler across the hall screamed until about 10:30 pm. Her dogs were crying. This caused my dog to bark and be in high alert. Light came through the door and door jamb. So did sound. Great property but not properly insulated. That doesn’t work when you are dog friendly.

Traveling for work with my service animal and read awesome things about this hotel for animal owners. While we do not have to stay in a "pet friendly" hotel with the service animal, it's nice to have green spaces for her to use the restroom and walk outside so we went with Durango's La Quinta. However, I would not recommend this one to any service animal owners nor pet owners as there were many dogs running around off leash at all hours, and animal droppings on the grounds. I truly worried about taking my service animal out of the room out of fear she would be bit or attacked by another animal that was off leash. Be careful and do your homework owners..

This was one of the most expensive La Quinta Inns we stayed at. Probably because it was in Durango. But the price for the quality was not the best. They had a hot breakfast served by one person for those who stood in line. They had a pretty good area to walk dogs. The hotel charged me an additional $17 claiming BringFido did not pay them the full charge. I had a 'paid in full' receipt but they still charged me.

No problems. $20/ night pet fee. They put me close to an exit. A small grassy area is provided with bags for dog poo. No special puppy treats, but nice rooms, hotel and staff.

Wow - terrible staff and the hotel smells like smoke.
Rooms were terrible they smell old and Smokey and furniture was out dated. Called front desk to change rooms no one would answer -next day complain to the front desk and they didn’t care terrible experience I love Colorado but God this la quinta sucks - we did a 16 day cross country road trip and this was the worst La quinta we stayed at -not so great for dogs compared to others we stayed in on road trip.
