      Cheap but should've gone elsewhere

      They were pet-friendly and room appeared clean. We stayed here because it was an historic Route 66 motel. The non-smoking room had ancient cigarettes burns on the counter and other places. It is a cheap place to stay, but the neighborhood is kinda trashy with only a dusty vacant lot to walk our dog. The motel manager responded to a buzzer by their locked front door and was friendly, but was not present otherwise and disappeared back into the building after we checked in. In short, it's not an attractive place to stay, but it was inexpensive and seemed safe and clean enough. We will look for a better place if we end up in Barstow again.

    Safe Stay: Star Inn has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay and sealed after cleaning. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Cashless payment is available. Each room has a 24-hour gap period between stays, and hotel staff are required to wear masks.
