  Old school is the exception

  If you and Fido are looking for a clean, well kept motel with plans to visit the Island, look no more. We chose Vindel Motel because it received nothing but 5 Bone reviews. It is evident the owners take pride in their establishment. Their old school service is becoming more and more the exception. They small talk at check-in, still straighten rooms, empty trash and replenish towels. Lighted grassy pet areas and spacious rooms make it Fido friendly. You won’t go wrong here.

  Great Stay

  We booked this stay because of all the great reviews on this site and it did not disappoint. The room was very nice and clean and the staff was super friendly. If we are ever in the area, we will stay again!

  Fantastic for 4- and 2-legged guests!

  Super clean, super friendly, and all around awesome place to stay. We noted on the reservation that we were going to be a late check-in. They called to confirm personally and waited up for us to check in. Cute room that was very clean! Puppy approved, four paws up!!!

  Hidden treasure

  We agree with previous 5 bone reviews. Great little motel, privately owned and it shows it in the care and cleanliness of the grounds and rooms. Not the newest and shiniest but clean, no musty smells, very well maintained. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Shared their knowledge of the area and Mackinaw Island when we asked. Would absolutely stay again.

  Best place!

  The location was great! Check-in a breeze! Room was cozy and clean and cute! They had lots of good dog walking spots. Bed was very comfy. Too cold to use the great looking pool, but it must be a phenomenal amenity in the summer. Would stay here in every future trip!

  Nice location

  The accommodations were clean. I liked that the grounds were well lighted for the middle of the night ‘potty’ trips. Check-in was fast and the owner gave us suggestions of things to do in the area. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Thank you!

  Nice place to stay!

  Definitely recommend staying here with your fur babies. Owners are very friendly and rooms were cute and clean. Nice grassy areas and sidewalk to walk dogs. Maybe not the cheapest in the area but would highly recommend.

  Best Motel

  This motel was by far the best motel we stayed in while vacationing in Michigan. We loved the spacious room. Of all the hotels/motels we stayed in they charged the least amount for our dog. I regret I do not remember the name of the gentleman at the desk BUT an extra steak 🥩 for him. He was a wealth of knowledge and gave us great tips on what to see. We had two regrets: 1) we wished we could have stayed longer in beautiful Mackinaw City, and 2) a dip in the motel pool would have been nice. I certainly recommend this motel.

  Excellent Motel!

  Stayed because of the great reviews, and they did not disappoint. Old school motel that is updated and very charming. The rooms are spacious with cute decor and impossibly clean. 100% dog friendly, with plenty of grass for doing their business. There are trails behind the motel as well, although we did not walk these this time. Everyone was outwardly welcoming and accommodating/informative about what to do in the area with pups. We have 2 large pups, a Huskador (Husky/Labrador) and Husky and felt we had plenty of space in the single queen room. Easily walkable to all of downtown and the ferry. Absolutely recommend and we will only stay here when we return to Mackinaw City in the future.

  Great stay

  Husband and wife owned. This motel is old school. The host was very welcoming and told us all about the places that our dog could go with us. I recommend this motel to other dog lovers.

  Great Location and CLEAN!

  My wife and I, and our Yorkie, Freddie, spent three nights and we really enjoyed it! The owners are great and the lodging clean and perfectly located for easy walking to everything Mackinaw City has to offer. The rooms are small but were more than adequate with a fridge, microwave and 4 cup coffee maker. Hair dryer too. We would definitely stay here again.
