Made a reservation through BringFido and checked to make sure there was no pet size restrictions (there were none listed, just a very reasonable $25/night fee). My husband drove up with one of our dogs from Texas to go see his mom (didn't want to inconvenience her by staying at her place). Hubby shows up, finds out they changed his room from a double to a Queen (including the additional rate charge) and they had a problem with a large dog. The rudeness from whomever was "in charge" was unacceptable. He told my husband "If you don't like it you don't have to fu**ing stay here." My husband drove to his mother's and I called BringFido to make sure we were not charged and to get our trip insurance refunded. The person I spoke with at BringFido called the Willard Munger Inn and got attitude as well. I applaud Bringfido, as they provided exemplary customer service. Too bad I can't say the same for the Willard Munger Inn. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. If I could give negative dog bones I would.

Area behind provided nice space for Fido and parents to relax and enjoy, BBQ or sit around a campfire. Right next to trail.

Room was clean. Friendly staff. Minuses: Walls are thin which made our pup anxious with all the car noises and talking outside and next door. Not much space in the room if you need to kennel up at night. Overpriced. Wouldn’t be my first choice but would stay again in a pinch.

Circa 1954 Motel in a woodsy area with a fabulous yard for the dogs including firepits! Staff was very helpful, room was clean, comfortable and the bed was great! Just 15 min from the heart of Duluth.

The inn had a rustic look/feel to it. Was busy as this was the first weekend of summer. Accepted our dog well.

This hotel had its pluses and its minuses. The online pictures looked nicer than it was.
Pluses: they were fairly dog friendly and there was green space and areas to walk the dog to go to the bathroom pretty much right outside our door.
Minuses: Our room was not ready when we arrived an hour and a half after their 3pm check in time. Our room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. There was no continental breakfast as advertised (I understand due to COVID stuff why they wouldn’t have this, but some warning would be nice-seems like that is kind of what you are paying for too). The last day we were there they had someone repaving the parking lot without any warning to us. After hiking all morning we came back to our room expecting to relax, but instead listened to construction noise all afternoon.
In conclusion: I paid way too much. Should have just paid a few bucks more a night and stayed at a nicer place. - JasonOct 20, 2019Rustic and beautiful
Great price on a great stay. The room was huge, the breakfast was fantastic, and the walking trails (do a lake loop or take the path along the tracks - both were very nice)
Very friendly service - they even let us use the oven to heat up the pasties we picked up along our route.
A definite gem in Duluth.
