This is a lovely place! Very dog friendly, the first place we have stayed at that allowed dogs in the dining room. Usually we bring something to eat in the room, this was much better. We stayed in a king room which was lovely with a balcony with a views, even had a wood burning fireplace with wood and lighter. And at a great price. Will definitely stay again.

As indicated by other travelers, the whole property is dog friendly. There are roaring fires throughout the hotel in the winter, including in our room. The bar and restaurant had a great ambiance, with live music. Overall the hotel was rustic, cozy and welcoming. We will be making this a regular stop on our north/south drives.

Quaint, quiet and really dog friendly. We enjoyed our stay, the restaurant was good with live music in the bar, and the dog was welcome everywhere. The decor was what you would expect for a Mountain Lodge, it isn't a glossy white chain hotel. It isn't close to anything else, so if you must start the day with Starbucks, you'll be disappointed.

Stayed for 3 nights and had an awesome time. Booked the panorama suite with fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Will totally do it again. Close to the freeway but with windows closed, you won’t hear it. Quick drive into Ashland. Lots of space to walk the doggie. Best thing: the well-behaved dogs are allowed everywhere in the building and I mean EVERYWHERE! Being from Europe, I was amazed to see that they were allowed even in the restaurant, which offers some really tasty food. Can’t wait to get there again. Neither does doggie.

This property has a beautiful location, though not walkable to anything else, which is a benefit if you’re looking to “get away.” Staff could not have been friendlier at every level and they clearly welcome dogs and their humans. Our room was spacious with a lovely view. All that being said, they are sorely understaffed. There’s quite a bit of deferred maintenance (although the exterior grounds are well cared for) resulting in the place looking quite dated, dark and shabby. Worn mattress, chairs with buttons hanging from upholstery. The food is not good, although service was pleasant. Breakfast, while included, is self serve with nothing fresh. Again, it seems that this could be a staffing issue.

Located at 4,000 feet on a very hot day, Callahan’s was 10 degrees cooler than Ashland-proper which made outdoor dining tolerable. The accommodations were a little rustic but served our needs fine as did the restaurant with its dozen menu items and a full bar. Definitely worth staying at if you are traveling Route 5.

Callaghan’s has a sign at their entry specifically welcoming your furry friend(s) with dogs biscuits at the reception desk. Our Corgi was allowed to go anywhere in the Lodge, so we could have him with us for dinner and breakfast.

My husband and I, along with Sophie our Labrador, had a wonderful stay at Callahan's. Snow flurries in the afternoon made us all want to cuddle up by the fireplace in our room. The staff was very accommodating and we loved the DVD library. Can't wait to come back!

I stopped here for one night with my favorite road trip buddy Doodle Dandy. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The key maker was broken but I felt safe and had no security issues and the bed was very comfortable! The only issue I had was the jet tub was broken, otherwise everything was wonderful!

We were unexpectedly snowed in and found this lodge on BringFido. Everyone welcomed our Spinone Italiano heartily. He was allowed to dine with us. The food is amazing, the room is amazing, it’s as good as it can get! We hate to leave.

Nice roomy accommodations, big area to walk your pups. Friendly and helpful staff. Unexpected plus- your pups can join you in the dining room. Would definitely recommend. It’s a good halfway point overnighter between SF and Portland.

This place should be taken off your list. The pet friendly room they gave us was disquieting. Upon entering we notice a horrible odor. The carpet was filthy. Pee stains and other stains all over. My eyes were burning from the toxic smells. Cigarettes? Chemicals? We immediately went downstairs and complained. They didn't seem to care. We said we would not be staying and gave them the key. Got home from our trip. They charged me for TWO nights!! Horrible ran-down place. I'm calling my credit card company and filing a dispute on the charge.

Room was spacious. Restaurant menu and bar menu was great. Service was a bit lacking, maybe due to being short staffed. My room was missing the TV remote and the VCR. The desk clerk claimed every room had both. He said he would find the remote but never did. The food I ordered at the restaurant was good but a bit cold. I assume it sat waiting to be delivered to me. It was what it was, a place to sleep that allowed my dog.

We spent one night at Callaghan’s on our way back to California from Portland with our two boxers. Our one night stay was fabulous! The staff is extremely nice and the hotel is very pet friendly. We were able to enjoy dinner at the hotel with our two dogs on the patio & dinner was delicious! Highly recommend to any fur parents.

From the pics and description, I expected this to be farther off the road and more in the forest. It’s right off the highway. But as a stop on a road trip it was great. Grassy lawn for pooch to walk on, big patio for dining, decent food and drinks. The staff was very friendly to our furry friend.

Everything was perfect! The staff was welcoming, the penthouse room 41 was clean and ready on our arrival, with plenty of space and amenities for a comfortable stay. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the continental breakfast bar was convenient. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone traveling through the Ashland area.

Welcomed me and my dog Elton with open arms! Room with fireplace, hot tub and spa quality bedding in a cozy mountain lodge atmosphere. Safe parking right outside the room for easy loading and unloading. And the hamburger, OMG the menu was right, it's a famous burger. Almost ordered one for the dog too!

Callahan’s is a unique property. Family owned and built in 1947! They could not have been nicer to my dog. He was even allowed to have dinner and breakfast with me in the dining room! The property is somewhat isolated on a freeway off ramp all on its own. The front desk does not appear to be staffed after hours. I was traveling alone so was not entirely comfortable with all that. The tv did not work and there was no one available to assist with it. The fridge and ac were quite loud. I thought the price point was a little steep all things considered.
