- KarlaApr 29, 2021Good ocean view, but the worst place to stay.
Guests won’t feel welcome here. No apology. No check in before 4 PM. Made the reservation for two nights, but only stayed one night. Charged for both nights. No refunds. If we could have seen the room before 4 PM, we would not have stayed even one night. By that time, we were too tired to find other accommodations. Check in consisted of one Key and a wad of paperwork in an envelope under the doormat. Room smelled of powerful disinfectant. Nauseated for hours until it dissipated. Never seen a more dilapidated property. It should be condemned. Holes in wall, paint falling off, extension cords hanging everywhere, and dead outlets. Thermostat disconnected. Small space heater only. Better furniture in the Goodwill. Mattresses are shot, sink in and roll to the middle. Filthy bathroom with lots of mold, exposed pipes, and hair. BEWARE! Hot water will run out before the end of ONE shower. Internet is worthless. Tiny TV has cable, but remotes don't work. Pages of house rules. Lots of fees including a $50 charge if you don't wash the dishes.

Being right on the beach, the view was stupendous. Being on the third floor with no elevator made sure we got a LOT of exercise, as Taz simply doesn't do stairs. The room was spacious but the carpet and linoleum were very old and tired, with holes and tears. Dogs are not allowed on furniture. There was a private entrance to the beach and the pet area and beach were spotless! We would stay again, provided we could be on a lower floor.

I was not sure what to expect based on others’ reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. Our third floor room was clean and spacious. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed and everything worked fine. Yes, the walls are thin and the hotel does not appear to have been updated for a while.
But that view!!! Amazing, especially on a cold, wet day when you may not want to spend a lot of time outside. Best view to start the day and to end the day. I opened the windows to listen to the surf while enjoying my coffee and can imagine few better ways to begin my day!! - BipashaDec 19, 2020Clean, pet friendly, ocean view rooms.
Excellent experience. Loved the attention to COVID related safety precautions. Though did see unruly “covidiots” roaming around without masks - that’s not cool at all.
The pet fee is reasonable and the rules of no pets on furniture a welcome requirement. Our dog was happy to be on her own bed in the generous open closet space. She did not need to be on my bed.

Million dollar views from every room! The “rooms” are actually apartments with kitchens stocked with the basics. All amenities, all clean, the hotel has private stairs leading directly to a dog friends beach. They provide a feet washing station and dog relief area. It’s the perfect Oregon coast experience, with or without a dog. Salty, nostalgic, quaint, friendly. WestShore has been a family favorite for 30 years. Thank you!

We stayed 3 nights and the staff were super. We have two large dogs, one who isn't great with stairs. When I mentioned that to the front desk they moved us from the third floor to another room on the second floor, no charge! Yes, the carpet had some stains and the drapes were frayed but everything was clean and odor free. The view was spectacular and there was an access ramp to the beach just a couple of blocks down the street. We will definitely stay here again!

The views from the hotel room were spectacular, but it's a shame the windows were so dirty as partly obscured the view. We thought it was misty outside but it was just the dirt on the windows. The room was spacious and clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. The decor is a bit dated but that is reflected fairly in the price. There are stairs down to the beach from the hotel and our dog had a great time running up and down the beach. Parking was good too. If you have small children be aware that the windows open at the bottom and the gap is large enough for a small child (or small dog) to fall out of.
