Located within the 24 000 acre Vyrnwy estate the hotel provides endless opportunities for outdoor activities including Birdwatching Abseiling Archery Canoeing Clay Shooting Cycling Falconry Fly-Fishing Orienteering Quad Trekking Rowing Rock Climbing Tennis The Vyrnwy Challenge Walking and mapped Nature Trails White Water Rafting 4 wheel driving and Pheasant Shooting. The estate is ideal for Horse Riding and livery is available for guests wanting to bring their own Horses. Kennels for dogs are also available. Lake Vyrnwy enjoys a reputation for excellent cuisine and the AA has awarded the restaurant with 2 rosettes of distinction. The 24 000 estate provides the hotel with the most wonderful fresh ingredients including game lamb and fish. Everything from the marmalade to the petits fours at dinner is created in the Vyrnwy kitchens. None of the food is genetically modified. The restaurant overlooks the Lake and operates a no smoking policy. Originally built in 1860 the hotels 35 bedrooms are all individually furnished and decorated many with antiques and special features such as Jacuzzi baths four poster beds balconies and suites with delightful views. This country house hotel has cosy lounges with log fires burning in the winter and offers decadent afternoon teas overlooking the Lake. There is also a charming country pub serving snacks and real ales and the more formal cocktail bar. Conference suite for 120 people with private terrace and helipad. Less than an hours drive from Shrewsbury and under 2 hours from Birmingham. Ample free parking.
