For those who remember motor courts, this is a great example. Small room with a kitchenette BUT modern amenities of big screen TV and terrific queen mattress are just the right updates. Close to the activities of town (0.9 mi) but quiet enough at night even though located in Main St. Dog areas a bit down the street, but accessible. Friendly and painless check in. A great place to stay in Fredericksburg.

It was a cute & quaint motel with the most adorable touches. Our room was a themed room with a book to educate you on the artist of the theme. It’s an older motel but extremely clean inside & out & our puppies loved being there & seemed really comfortable in the area. We just loved our stay & would highly recommend.

They did not mind my pit/lab mix, full grown, when renting the room. Pet fee was waived. Very small room but cute and clean. Great location and plenty of grass areas!

We picked Hotel Kitsmiller because they accept large dogs and have no problem with you leaving your dog in the room unattended. The price was reasonable in what has become a trendy, tourist destination. The manager called to let me know our room was ready, and he offered to help us with local sights, wineries, restaurant recommendations. For pickier folks, just know this is an older motor inn (built in the 1930s) that has been updated as best as possible. It’s quirky, but we found it charming in its own way. We stayed an extra day and enjoyed it.

Our latest stay(Dec17 2020) we had room 7 this time and it was nice. There was two super comfortable beds, a mini fridge and a microwave. After staying here before we know about the floors and brought a moving blanket to cover the floor for our big boy with bad hips. It worked great. I love this dog friendly little motel.
I want to start by saying the owners are super nice and I would stay there again. It was such a cute place with the great retro feel. The beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. They had a lovely little outside green area for walking dogs and enjoying outside. Now that being said there were several things that could be improved upon. The cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better. The refrigerator leaked and must have been leaking for a while as the floor and trim in front were damaged and the bottom of frig door was rusted also. The floors were laminate which is nice for cleaning when pets are allowed but there was no type of rug or runner and our big dog couldn’t get footing on the slick laminate floor so we had to use a Bath room towel and he had to stay on it to be able to stand. Wouldnt really say that’s their fault but maybe mention it in ad so fur mommas can come prepared. Bottom line....we would stay there again because they are so so friendly and allow all sizes dogs with no discrimination of our 127 pound Anatolian/Pyrenees. Also the location is great and they allow pets to be left in room so Mom and Dad can have dinner without fur babies. That really makes the stay great. Another great aspect of this cute kitschy motel is the parking right in front of your room. You can really get the feel for what a great place this was in its hay day.

rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, there is a fantastic little grassy area to sit and enjoy with your dog. Well lit at night. fantastic and friendly staff. Great place to hang your hat!

RIght on rte 290 this older motel was fine for one night. Room was small but clean. Bathroom was tight. Since there was no breakfast the kitchenette was a plus. Very close to wineries and downtown. My dog was content.
