  THE BEST!

  Emerald Glen Getaway is clearly the best place imaginable for us to be with our dog. He is so very happy there and just seems to feels like the world is his and he can enjoy every minute. The grounds are beautiful and very special. The creek makes it perfect for dogs to enjoy swimming, drinking good, clean water or watching fish. The beach areas have relaxing comfortable chairs so the adults can enjoy watching the dogs play! I would VERY HIGHLY recommend Emerald Glen Getaway and will plan to return every year!

  Heaven on Earth

  This is truly a magical experience. We were on cloud 9. Lots of trails and places for him to swim. All dogs were friendly and had a blast. Max was extreamly sad after we left, and we will be back next year.

  Can’t wait to go back!

  We had a wonderful time at Emerald Glen. Our 5 year old Golden Retriever loved being able to explore all of the trails and the hidden spots. Not only is the location beautiful, but the owners have thought of everything-from water to tennis balls! Everything was clean and very well taken care of! Can’t recommend enough!

  Amazing Place

  A Dog's Dream

  Absolutely the BEST place to get away for your dog FIRST & you SECOND. The proprietors of this place IAN & MINDY are the best owners. Down to earth & very approachable to every need. Highly recommend this getaway retreat.

  Amazing

  I'm not one to post reviews about places but I can't say enough good things about this place. We had our first weekend there and Elvis was in HEAVEN. It's truly dog Disney. The joy on his face from being able to run freely for miles all weekend was priceless. All the other people/dogs were great and the grounds are amazing. We can't wait to go back.

  Heaven for Dog families

  I have been coming to Emerald Glen (previously Glen Highlands) for 15 years. We love it! It is so unique! We love the freedom for our dogs to interact with us on a unique level. We love the hiking and the beaches - the variety of the environment. We enjoy unique experiences like the suspended bridge; it's great when the dogs get it and start running across. The Hound Hub lounge and kitchen is comfortable and well equipped. We meet great people - dog people are wonderful. We enjoy games, conversation, shared walks and the campfires. Our accommodations are very good.

  Awesome winter vacation!

  My two Aussies and I just spent 6 days in the NorthStar Lodge at Emerald Glen Getaway. We had an amazing time! The Lodge is clean, comfy and cozy with all the kitchen amenities and a king size bed that was perfect for all of us to stretch out in after a long day of exploring the property. The Lodge has its own fenced in yard, I could open the French doors in the bedroom to let them out in the morning. There are also 20 acres of fenced in grounds that was great for working on recall with my younger dog. Then there are over a hundred acres of dog heaven! Well maintained trails to run, wooded areas to sniff, and a creek to jump and play in. The NorthStar is the only accommodation open in the winter, so we had the whole place to ourselves. That was the best part for my dogs who can be reactive to other dogs, and for myself to recover from a stressful holiday season. I am already looking at my schedule to plan our next adventure at the Getaway!

  Absolute heaven for dogs

  Emerald Glen is a beautiful, Well maintained property. Ian and Mindy are the owners and are very concerned about you and your pups having the best time ever, And you will! Your pups can swim, run in open fields or trails in the forests. You have options for camping, From a large tent to a private house as well as cabins and campers that are clean and have stoves and fridges and showers. I highly recommend the showers over at the cooking area, Very hot and soothing water. I cant wait until next year to visit. The whole area is beautiful and the locals are friendly. Lots to do on the farm. Thank you very much Ian and Mindy.

  Unlike anywhere else!!!!

  We took our two pups for a family weekend to Emerald Glen and we were blown away!! This place is a dream for dog owners who live for giving their dogs the best experiences - off leash!!! The grounds are beautiful and well spread out so you can have private fun or you can gather with others!! Mindy and Ian were wonderful… gave us a grand tour before our stay and recommended the best bakery that I’ve ever been to! We will be making this a yearly… or maybe monthly vacation spot!

  Heaven on Earth for dogs owners

  I would give it 10 bones if I could! This weekend was our first time at Emerald Glen, and we could not of been happier. Our dog loved being able to run and play off leash and my husband and I got to relax. They have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. They supply all of the cooking utensils, pots, pans, coffee makers, gas grills, wood grills, and even fire wood. This was the first time our dog was off leash, and he did great. He loved hiking the trails, playing in the water and making new friends. They even supply coolers of bottled water and water for your dog along the trails. We are looking forward to coming back every summer. Thank you for giving us such a great place to unwind with our fur baby

  dog heaven and pollinator paradise

  This is a great place to unwind with your dogs! Our three loved running the hillsides and along the stream--we did too. The well kept meadows and pathways were so inviting for all of us! This is also a pollinator paradise! So much milkweed and other native pollinator friendly plants--and so many butterflies! We loved seeing the old growth trees--so much to love here. Mindy and Ian are warm and welcoming. A great place to unwind, give the whole family a break! Loved it.

  Perfect spot for humans and their dogs

  The property was large and beautiful with many water spots. Dogs were unleashed and able to explore.
  Owners/staff are friendly and helpful.
  Great common areas for eating. Water provided for humans and dogs along hiking areas.
  Highly recommend.

  Best Dog Vacation Ever

  My husband and I spent 4 days at the Emerald Glen for a getaway with our 2 Siberian huskies. They had the time of their lives. After 4 days they slept all the way home on our 4-hour drive. This was our first visit to Emerald Glen Getaway and we are already planning our return trip in Sept. The owners are great and could not ask for a better vacation.

  Dog Disneyland

  Lucille needed at least two days to recover from her visit to Dog Disneyland. She is typically a low energy dog, but she came alive on the gorgeous trails. She became so independent and confident. She had the best time meeting other pups, napping, running, chasing critters, sniffing flowers, sunbathing and enjoying the ultimate freedom and beauty of Emerald Glen. Her pawrents had a relaxing time as well. We hope to return soon!

  Perfect for dogs and those that love them

  Although 2 of our dogs were unable to attend because they were in heat, we still had a great time with our Lab. The best part is that all the other guests are kindred spirits and love talking about our dogs. The only negative is that our grandchildren were unable to visit with us because of the minimum age (18) requirements.

  Best kept secret

  Just returned from my 6th consecutive year at Emerald Glen Getaway. I always say this is a dog and dog lovers best kept secret. I can't stand going on vacation and leaving my dog behind. No need at EGG where you get the best of both worlds! If you do your research on dog-specific vacations, you won't find anything remotely close to EGG. Pet friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, reservations - yes, but nothing combining all of these features in one place. It's great for dogs of all ages. So many acres to explore and water to waddle/swim in. Each rest stop features fresh water for your pet, bottled water for us humans, chuck-it throwers along with balls, camping chairs and hammocks for relaxation. Ian and Mindy, along with long-standing assistant John are the best hosts. They keep the outhouse and common area clean and well-stocked. The trails are perfectly maintained. They check-in daily to be sure all's ok. Looking forward to our 7th year in 2022!

  Hidden Gem!

  This is a hidden gem for dog people! You can camp or glamp to your style (tent, cottage, cabin, RV, or lodge). There’s sooooo much to explore and we love that it’s all off-leash (except for crossing the road). You can hang out near the campsite, or hike for hours. They also have a senior dog area that’s less strenuous. There’s nowhere like this in our area that is so dog friendly. This is 100% now one of our yearly trips. We cannot wait to come back next year.

  Peaceful Dog Vacation!

  Emerald Glen is such a wonderful place to bring dogs. Peaceful, relaxing, plenty of room - it never feels crowded, even if every cabin and RV has someone staying there. So many options for trails... woods, meadows, tons of beach spots along the creek... everything a dog could want, and for people too! Ian, Mindy, and John do a fantastic job maintaining the property and bring a personal touch to our stay. You can spend the day hiking the trails, laying reading in a hammock, wading in the creek. The dogs have a wonderful time exploring. The ~30 fenced acres provide plenty of room for off-leash exploration if you don't trust your dog off leash on the trails. I go every year, and as soon as I leave I can't wait to return. My hound mix can track wildlife all day long if she wants, my senior border collie and snooze in the sun, and my rough collie can push her way through the brush to find bunnies... my dogs almost learned to swim in the creek this time - they get a little closer every year. Truly a dog haven!

  Canine Heaven!

  We are on our 6 or 7th stay at Emerald Glen Getaway. The owners, Ian and Mindy took over last year and personally check in with all guests to ensure their needs are met. They are very gracious and have a fantastic property and grounds for humans and their dogs. Swimming, hiking, lounging....total relaxation! Accommodations include RVs, cabins or tents, something for everyone. This year, we had our 2 seasoned campers (dogs) and a new rescue. The setting made it possible and comfortable for us to bring him and he enjoyed the hikes and was able to relax in the RV when he wanted quiet time. Can't say enough good things about what this represents to us. We were up to a group of 7 people and 10 dogs this year and hope to share this gem with more friends soon!

  Dogs Paradise

  I have been taking my Rottie, Jazzy, to Emerald Glen Getaway for the last 6 years every July. Once we are 2 hours into the trip there she knows where we are going and she is already excited. The whole time there she never sees a leash and is able to enjoy the trails with freedom to do whatever she wants. The creek running through the property allows her to go swimming to cool off and to play fetch. My dog has the time of her life and to see her so happy makes me happy too. I highly recommend this place to all dog lovers. Treat your dog he/she deserves it. And the new owners are awesome, so friendly and welcoming.

  Outstanding getaway!

  Mark and I, along with our two golden doodles, Cash & Penny, have visited the Emerald Glen Getaway three times since last year. We plan to return this September. It has been a marvelous experience for all of us each time.

  There are so many safe areas for our doodles to roam- either fenced or protected by natural, diverse terrain including woods, fields and a long winding creek. It is a joy to see our furry friends running, splashing, rolling around and playing within such a vast and varied space.

  The lodging options have been quite good. Twice we stayed in one of the on-site RVs and most recently at the Northstar Lodge, a cute on-site house with its own fenced yard within the larger fenced area. Everything has been clean and neat with welcoming touches. All the kitchenware we needed was provided so we were able to enjoy home-cooked meals. Occasionally we got take out food from some nice restaurants in neighboring towns.

  The owners, Ian and Mindy, are attentive, conscientious and really nice people. This shows in all the detailed ways they made us feel right at home- whether providing us with courtesy mugs and blankets, advising us regarding the trails and weather conditions, giving us tips about nearby places to visit or checking to see if we had any questions or concerns.

  In sum, it is an outstanding locale for both humans and their canine companions-a lovely oasis run by extremely competent, concerned and likable owners.

  Cash and Penny have had such a great time each visit that they forgot to beg for treats. I give this dog-cation getaway a five bones review because, make no bones about it, it's great!

  A rare and wholesome Getaway for Dogs and Pawrents!

  Ian and Mindy were truly a pleasure to get to know! Two hard working individuals who share an immense love for dogs. The getaway is a blissful haven for dog lovers/pet parents. Multiple trails, lot of places for the dogs to just jump in and frolic in the water and a wholesome 120 acres of off-leash fun! Living in the city, it is something we can only dream of.
  My husband and I visited Emerald Glen with our 3 year old boy Whiskey. Ian and Mindy were very generous in introducing all of us to their own fur babies, Siena and Honcho, and also showed us around the entire property! Whiskey had a great time swimming alongside Siena and exploring alongside Honcho (they just might have become fur-ever friends!).
  We stayed at the Northstar Lodge property and found it to be very cozy and comfortable. Ian and Mindy were very responsive to all queries and were super helpful in giving us local information.

  All in all, it was the perfect getaway we had been dreaming of after a year of being in lockdown and restrictions. We have already spammed our friends enough pushing them to visit this place :)

  We will definitely be back!

  Great getaway for you and your dog!

  Molly and I love it here! She can run free, chase critters, and swim all day during the warmer months. I can detach from the stresses of a normal workday, catch up on some reading, and get reenergized. Mindy and Ian are fantastic and have created a doggy wonderland! I just finished my 4th visit in the last year and every trip was fantastic! We rented the Northstar Lodge for the first time! So much fun snowshoeing and exploring the trails! If you want a winter getaway, bring your snowshoes, x country skis, sled, and your fur baby! You won’t regret it!

  Best dog-friendly vacation

  We visit the Emerald Glen Getaway every summer. It is an amazing place for dogs and their owners. The countryside grounds are beautiful. Our dog loves being off-leash and meeting other dogs each time we visit. The accommodations are nice and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend this getaway!

  Fantastic Pooch Paradise

  This place is for friendly dogs and their people (sorry, no kids allowed) - its amazing.
  I cannot express how awesome this getaway is. The joy both my dogs, my husband and i have renting one of the RVs at this getaway - the dogs as always have the best time being off leash and with other dogs.
  This was our 9th trip and it gets better every time. The RVs had everything we could need. Even better is the Hound Hub which is a communal space (perfectly set up for covid distancing) where we spent every night preparing our food and relaxing with the friends we made during our escape.
  The Valley view for sundowners is perfect too.
  The set- up of the walking trails, the attention to detail and the locations of the relaxation spots with lounge chairs and some with umbrellas, a few have water access for dogs.
  This place is doggie heaven and owners get to meet like minded people.
  We'll definitely be back again.

  Perfect doggie vacation!

  The Emerald Glen is the best place ever for dogs and their people! 20 acres fenced and another 100 or so of trails through fields and forests, and water access with little beaches to relax in chairs and hammocks. Lots of camping options - RV's, cottages, cabins, tents. The Hound Hub is a terrific place to socialize with other dog lovers and cook. There is nothing like this for dogs!

  Amazing Off-Leash Adventure & Accommodations

  The Getaway at Emerald Glen is a dog centered, off leash, 18+, private campground with a variety of accommodations to choose from. Platform tents, cabins, cottages, or RVs (you can also bring your own). 200 acres of trails along the Osgood Creek in rural Morris, NY.
