Reviews
- JulieMar. 9, 2023Worked well for a big dog
My dog is 115# and this worked well. Plenty of room and wood/laminate flooring for easy cleaning. Comfy bed for humans too.
- EmilyFeb. 23, 2023Excellent!!
We often rate places as they compare for dog-friendly accommodations, but this hotel is one I’d stay in even if I didn’t have a dog. The staff could not have been more welcoming and pleasant, and the hotel itself is immaculate. The breakfast spread is ample and they are constantly tidying the breakfast area as folks come and go. Plenty of areas to walk the dog and the areas were clean - people respected the rules and picked up after their dogs.
- JenniferJan. 4, 2023Decent for overnight stay
Breakfast wasn't that great compared to some of the other La Quinta hotels. Coffee was good but only had cream and sugar, no flavored creamers. One elevator was down and hotel was busy so it took a long time to get up/down. Parking was sufficient and there was plenty of room to potty the dogs. Restaurants close by. Room was clean and bed was comfy.
- KayNov. 27, 2022Looks can be deceiving
Hotel looks great but when you look closer the details are missed. I was excited to stay here, however we received a dirty room. The whole hotel smells like chlorine (even being away from the pool). The guidelines for pets is wrong on the hotel site. They don’t take more than two pets and you sign a long list of what your dog won’t do. I agree with ‘not leaving in the room alone’ but many other points in their laundry list don’t make sense. It makes me think they had a recent lawsuit since as dog owner, you sign a liability waiver. Which I understand but have never seen that at any hotel.
The room itself has sticky floors and dirty sheets. Given we have dogs, dirty we understand but it says pets aren’t allowed on any furniture but then what was the black hairs on the bed? Remote controls all had duct tape, when we inquired why the front desk said oh that’s how our hotel is, none of them seem to have come with the back of the remote. We tried to talk to the front desk and they were very nice but couldn’t help, stating we are almost full to capacity, so we couldn’t get another room but we also were going to be charged even if we opted to leave.
We had asked but they said it’s non refundable and oddly the desk clerk didn’t seem surprised when we mentioned stained sheets and hair on the bed. Given we paid $169 plus $100 deposit and an $100 incidental fee (which we should get back) I wonder why it’s so expensive to stay there? Unfortunately I would recommend you stay somewhere else. I really wanted to like this place but they didn’t seem to care.
- CarrieOct. 29, 2022Nice Stay
The hotel was quiet despite being close to the freeway. Our room was on the second floor and did not have carpet. They charge a $100 refundable fee for dogs. There was not a dedicated pet area, but there was adequate grass around the side & back of the hotel. We felt safe at the hotel, but I’m not sure about the surrounding area. Breakfast was provided, but we checked out before it was served.
- RebeccaAug. 22, 2022Good stop
Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff were very helpful. Good walking with dog.
- CarolJul. 25, 2022Lots of grassy areas and clean
They were short front desk staff so it took awhile to check in and get other services. It had old furnishings but was very clean and serviceable for our one-night stay.
- GinaJun. 26, 2022So clean!
Great location and so clean.
- RockyApr. 4, 2022Right off of the highway
Easy check in. Dogs were very welcome. Lots of room to walk them. Very clean hotel.
- RachelMar. 24, 2022Clean
This is a nice clean hotel. The only complaint is that they take a $100 deposit and that pets aren't allowed in the furniture in the room.
- GabrielleJan. 2, 2022Clean, easy in and out stop
We always are looking for a clean place to stay on our long road trips with our dog. This place was great!
- StephanieNov. 11, 2021It was clean and a great location.
The staff was very friendly.
- DeborahNov. 4, 2021Success
Traveling w 1 Goldendoodle and 3 crated cats. They took the extras w no question. Room was clearly for pets - only one beat up chair, no carpet - but had a fridge, a good TV & microwave and updates bathroom. Very clean. large grassy area to walk dogs. Right on I-40, next to Cracker Barrel - not a long term stay choice but fine for overnight. Cat warning: thought we were ok w pedestal beds and no crannies behind dresser and nightstand, but we thought we’d lost a cat until desk agent suggested we look UNDER AND BEHIND the BATHROOM SINK! A hidden, unlit nook, completely cat-sized that we would never have found without their help. Adventures.
- KonradOct. 21, 2021Tolerable...
So we've now done 6 nights back to back driving from CA to VA, and have stayed in Hampton Inns, Springhill Suites (Marriott), and Crowne Plaza as well as this La Quinta. After all of the others, this La Quinta definitely comes bottom of the pile.
It started with the lady (who also seemed to be the manager?) at the check-in desk scolding my wife who had gone in ahead of me to check in. What for, one may ask? Well, it seems that she had foolishly allowed the dogs to walk over the carpeted area in the lobby instead of staying on the tiled corridor between the front door and the desk. No signs to tell guests that dogs weren't allowed on the carpet though: it seems some level of clairvoyance is required when entering this hotel lobby with pets for the first time. And then we were told unequivocally that pets were to enter and exit through the rear door for the remainder of our stay: she didn't want them out front of the hotel anywhere.
Then the check in too forever, far longer than any of the other hotels, and far longer than any hotel I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at a LOT of hotels. Then she charged us twice for the room. The room itself is, well, somewhat spartan, to be charitable. It definitely has a "cheap and cheerful" feel about it, and echoed a lot. It was clean, as far as we could tell.
Overall we felt like we were imposing on the hotel, as opposed to feeling like guests. I get that it's reasonable to expect a little more from guests with pets in terms of setting expectations, but this was too much, especially compared to the other chains. If you can't find anything else in the area suitable, this this will probably be OK, but I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
- KathleenOct. 3, 2021Terrible location
I was expecting to stay in Memphis and thought this would be a good place to stay. The location is extremely hard to get too. It has zero restaurants near it unless you want Cracker Barrel or Applebees. The staff was extremely friendly except for the lady who was yelling at us at the breakfast bar about not having a mask on. We came from a state where that isn’t a thing anymore so we were caught unaware and she wasn’t nice about it. Make you sign your life away for your dog and will charge you if they leave room hairy or if they think your dog has been on the been on the furniture. Only attempt if you are desperate. Spend the extra money and actually go into Memphis.
- MaggieSep. 11, 2021Easy location!
Very comfortable place to take our pup!
- KristenSep. 4, 2021Very Courteous and Considerate
Evacuated here due to Hurricane Ida. First place we booked in Tunica was disgusting, and we were lucky enough to find a room at La Quinta. Building was newish and very well kept. Rooms were clean and everyone was friendly. Great places to walk your dogs out back, and good location with lots of food places around. Would definitely stay here again.
- BruceAug. 17, 2021Poor Customer Service
Although the hotel was very clean and it seemed to be popular because there were a lot of dogs but the help from the front desk was nothing to be found. There are only three rooms on the first floor so most pets are on the second floor (not the best for dogs). I asked to be placed at the end of the hall by the stairs and was placed in a room in the middle of the hallway - really! If you don’t mind not being listened to it could be a good stay.
- AimeeAug. 12, 2021Clean and new!
New property that’s very a very convenient stop off the highway! Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Nice to have complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi!
- ThomasAug. 6, 2021Very Nice facility
Very friendly and clean.
- MeaganJul. 8, 2021Great option for those traveling with big dogs
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling alone or with big hairy dogs. Room had wood laminate flooring (no carpet), which I appreciated. Grassy areas were well-lit, clean, and equipped with pet waste stations. Staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
- AmyJul. 1, 2021Clean and safe
Nice quiet location, pets accepted with additional pet fee and had to sign a paper that stated my pet would not bark or be on the furniture. Staff was nice, breakfast was included, facility was clean and fresh, there's an indoor pool, plenty of parking but limited trailer space. Long stretch of grassy area in the back with pet waste spot. Overall a very good location.
- JennieMay. 12, 2021Worth the stay and driving to avoid congested downtown areas
Rooms nice size. Lots of green space but not sure how much will be left if continue to build in the area. Dryer was broken but was labeled. Quiet rooms. Only hotel with no animal testing hand sanitizer!!! WooHoo--wish all the products were no animal testing. Pantene still uses companies that do test on animals :(. Is on a one-way frontage/service road. If you need something stop before you arrive because it's difficult to drive to places and West Memphis is considered high crime--had no safety concerns @ hotel. And, snack area is limited and only plastic bottles. Pool small and had many kids playing so we didn't use it but they were having fun!! nice patio area with furniture. Short drive to visitor areas. Worth staying and driving to areas for the amount of green space, size of rooms and avoiding congested city areas. Did have left over kibble behind a door which questions how well the rooms are cleaned and sanitized.
- KennethApr. 26, 2021Great Stay
Staff was fantastic. Clean n great quality. Good area for pet to go to bathroom when needed.
- MikeFeb. 13, 2021Nice hotel and pets welcome
This is a newer hotel so public areas and rooms are in very good shape and good location overall. Would stay here again for sure.
- NancyFeb. 6, 2021Great Stay!
We weee passing through with our two dogs traveling home to California from the northeast. We’ve stayed at a lot of La Quinta Inns before this one and this is by far the best because it’s new. Great outside green area for dogs. Only downside is the pet friendly rooms are very industrial with laminate flooring so felt a bit cold like a dormitory but foe a nights stay it was fine! Would recommend!!
- SandyJan. 6, 2021nice!
Had a great overnight stay
- MelodieJan. 5, 2021Off the road good place to walk dogs
It updated but very “cheaply” done it’s good for an overnight stay while traveling.
- SaraDec. 29, 2020Nice, Dog Friendly Stay
Nothing luxurious, but definitely cozy! Check-in and out was super simple; Accessible and convenient places for my pup to potty; Rooms were pretty clean; Staff is very friendly. The location is perfect if you're looking for a place to crash for the night. Not too many food options nearby, but wasn't a personal inconvenience. Overall, I would stay here again!
- MarilynDec. 17, 2020Great local and friendly people
Comfortable stay and easy access
- PatriciaDec. 13, 2020Very clean great service
Alicia was super helpful and very informative! I was for newly remodeled very clean and great service!
- KatlynDec. 4, 2020Highly recommend
Stayed here 1 night only with 2 dogs (Great Dane and French Bulldog) during a cross country drive. Hotel is new and flooring in pet-friendly room is not carpet, some type of waterproof vinyl. Large grassy area (not fenced) behind hotel with pet waste stations/bags provided. Front desk staff was friendly. I’d stay here again.
- MichelleOct. 29, 2020Ehhhhhh, Nice and New, but filthy
Potential to be a very nice stay, BUT, the cleaning people whip in and out and don't really clean. Bathroom floor had tons of hair, carpet dirty...... Walked around not touching anything!!
- CaroleOct. 20, 2020Great stay!
The hotel was wonderful! Great staff, clean and modern rooms (and super shower), and perfect area for pets to actually walk and be comfortable. We were there Oct 2020.
- AnnOct. 19, 2020Great Hotel
We were driving from MA to AZ with two old dogs and an African Grey parrot. We found this hotel on BringFido and it was the best place we stayed during our trip. It’s clean, nice rooms without carpets. We were even able to do our laundry. I would highly recommend this place,
- HelenOct. 18, 2020Nice clean and dog friendly
Nice hotel. Nice dog walking with little to no dog mess on the grounds. Clean inside as well!
- CarolOct. 12, 2020Clean and friendly
They went the extra mile
- Angielina568Oct. 12, 2020Spacious Rooms - Grassy Areas for Pets
Friendly staff and spacious rooms. Cracker Barrel next door. Large parking lot for trailer parking
- DarcyOct. 7, 2020Nice New Hotel
I originally hesitated as this was off the beaten path but really only about a 12 minute drive to Beale Street. Rooms were great with no carpet. Bathroom large and well lit. Pet area was also very well lit and safe behind the hotel away from the street. Cracker Barrel shares the parking lot. They ladies at check-in were so nice and helpful. The hotel is fairly new and very clean. Highly recommend!!
- LaurieOct. 5, 2020Great location
This is a great location and the property is only a year old. Very dog friendly and lots of space to walk the dogs. The only thing that kept me from 5 bones was that no one in housekeeping was wearing a mask. Most of the staff were very lax about it. I can not emphasize enough though what a great hotel this is!
- PierreAug. 1, 2020Great stop
Clean, good location next to cracker barrel and ample parking for everyone, including those with trailers. Large area in back for dogs.
- KimberlyJun. 25, 2020Great location!
The only improvement I’d make is that they offered no doggy treats.
- ShannonJun. 15, 2020Very pet friendly!
The staff at the hotel were all very nice. There are excellent grassy areas to walk dogs around three sides of the building. It backs up to a field one one side. We stayed in the “dog hall.” I think every room on our hall had a dog. It was fun seeing our canine neighbors.
