Nashville Riverside Retreat
Welcome! Please read entire description before booking:
Located on the outskirts of Nashville nestled in Tennessee countryside, this rental gives you all you could wish for in a vacation on the water. You'll have access to the dock for swimming, the fire pit and grill, the canoe, kayaks & a paddle boat (with a signed waiver), a full kitchen and deck and patio table for lounging. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis. Please enquire BEFORE booking.
Tennessee has beautiful rolling farmland. When you're on your way, you'll drive several miles next to the Cumberland River, and see lush pastures and peaceful water.
The rental is located near the Sycamore Recreation Area, the Bicentennial Rails to Trails Trail, and several TWRA areas where one can spend all day outdoors, then drive over to Nashville for the night-time country (or any style) music, great dining and fun.
If you love to fish, this rental is for you! Fish off the dock, fish off the canoe, or rent a kayak, or bring your own boat and leave it in the slip.
Just one mile away from the Bicentennial Trail, hikers come from all over for the nature setting. Bicycle races are held here also.
Whether you like fishing, or hiking, or just the serenity of the waterside, this is your place.
You'll have the use of the fire pit and grill, the canoe (with extra fee per day and signed waiver,) a full kitchen, very large deck, and patio table for lounging. There are closets for clothes and the bathroom has a large vanity.
The rental is the downstairs separate half of a country river house. It has its own private entrances, porches, etc. There are two bedrooms--one that has a pillowtop queen sized bed and the other has a bunkbed with a full sized mattress on the bottom and a twin on the top. There is a futon in the living room that can sleep two smaller people or one person comfortably. Air mattresses are on hand if needed for more than 6 guests. The kitchen is spacious and has plenty of room to prepare and cook most any size dinner.
Guest access
This lake front apartment is a stand-alone private downstairs apartment in a home. It has its own private entrances. The owners live in the upstairs half but you will have complete privacy. If important needs arise, they are usually home or nearby.
There is a cat that lives upstairs and is not allowed in the downstairs apartment. Also, occasionally the owners daughter’s dog comes to visit, but he is very old and friendly and not allowed in the apartment either. The apartment is one block from the boat ramp, if you wish to bring your boat and tie it to our dock, you are welcome to do so, with a signed liability waiver.
The place is great for musicians, but be considerate of neighbors at extremely late hours. (There is a real vintage piano) A great space to jam in the sunroom and on the large covered deck! Feel free to invite guests over, but please let us know beforehand, and if extra guests stay overnight, please pay the extra fee. Indoors, you can be as loud as you like, but when outdoors, please keep the noise down during late hours. Smoking is not allowed.
If you need to check in earlier or check out later, let us know! Usually we can accommodate requests unless there is more than average cleaning left from the prior nights guests. If you plan on arriving early, please let us know the exact time so we can make sure the cleaning person is finished. Linens, towels and soap are provided.
This rental welcomes and loves hosting families, but if you have small children, keep in mind the water is in the back of the yard. Care must be given to supervise any children who do not yet know how to swim and adequate supervision of older children who do, since it is a body of water with currents and a main thoroughfare for boaters going out on the lake. There is plenty of parking for those who need to park a few cars
We thoroughly clean and sanitize with covid-19 safety measures and precautions in between each guest before their stay. However, this is a home out in a beautiful, unique outdoors setting. You should expect a more homey, rustic, cozy vibe. If you are looking for a brand-new pristine hotel, then this is not the place for you. We are unique!- and there may be imperfections.
This is our home, a scenic destination in the countryside, and the water is literally 50 feet from the house, so when you stay, you may see bugs, squirrels, ducks, turtles, skunks, possums , leaves on the deck etc.. There is a Blue Heron who sometimes roosts on the roof of the dock. (This is a bird sanctuary, so sit back and observe.)
And of course we can not control the elements, but just expect to have somewhat of a camp-like nature feel when outside. Not being in the city, you probably will see a bug here and there, due to being so close to the water. And we expect that you will track in mud sometimes. This is not the Waldorf! We are a simple & peaceful getaway for those looking to get away from the city.
This is the private downstairs half of a house. There is a friendly cat that lives upstairs and is not allowed in the downstairs part. Also, the owners daughter has an older gentle dog that sometimes comes to visit upstairs. They are indoor/outdoor, so please be courteous if we allow to you to bring your dog. The house is one block from the boat launch ramp, if you wish to bring your boat and tie up to our dock, you are welcome to do so, with a signed liability waiver.
We are pet and family friendly. However, we allow pets on a case by case basis. Please message BEFORE booking to inquire about your pet. If your pet is destructive or not house trained, please look elsewhere to stay. Pets are not allowed to be left alone inside when you go out. An exception is if the pet is crated. If so then not to be left alone for more than a few hours.
We love to accommodate those with disabilities or special needs. Because the unit is all one level it is fairly accessible. However we are not ADA compliant. The measurements for clearance for doors are these: Front door: 34 inches, Bathroom Door: 28 inches, Sliding Door to back deck: 29 inches (you can also access the deck from the front entrance), bedroom doors: 29 inches. These sizes are not the sizes of the doors, but the clearance access for getting through. We hope these sizes can accommodate your needs!
Good Fishing!
