I am really surprised at the positive reviews for the pet friendly room. My experience was quite the opposite! We arrived & I felt good when I checked in - the lobby was nice & open & staff was friendly. But when we got to our room, we were shocked! The door had no weather stripping & you could see light under it & around it. The inside of the door was very dirty, the sheers on the window were shredded & had holes, the sheets didn't fit the king bed & wouldn't stay on the mattress, the blanket was torn & shredded around the edges. The soap, shampoo & conditioner dispenser in the shower was cheap & difficult to pump the contents from, the water didn't have a temperature regulator & one could easily get burn (but they did have very hot water). I paid $150 for a pet friendly room & for that I must have been given the worst room there. One positive: There wasn't carpet in the pet friendly room. This travel experience with 'Pet Friendly Best Westerns' has caused me to never stay in a BW hotel again.

We stopped here overnight with our little dachshund. The hotel is very clean and all of the staff were incredibly friendly. They gave us a 1st floor room which was nice for taking our girl out to use the restroom. There was much of a dog relief area, but there were some areas filled with small rocks you could take them to go.

They sincerely wanted to have our dog and us to be comfortable and at ease. This was the most accommodating staff toward our dog on our entire coast to coast trip. We enjoyed their polite attitude and sincere interest for us and our dog.

The hotel is convenient to I-40, and allowed me a first floor room (on a Sunday night, so not at peak) which is very convenient when you have a dog. It was clean but while the room was marked with a no smoking badge, there was a clear odor of smoke underlying the smell of cleaning product. The soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the very small bathroom were hard to operate. Since it was outdoor entry, it was pretty noisy; you hear outside your room, the parking lot, and upstairs, and while my dog settles fairly quickly that much action caused a later night than wanted.
There was plenty of parking, and while there were rocked outdoor beds near the rooms, there was a spacious amount of grass in front (I always bring my own clean up bags, but it would have been nice to have a dispenser/ waste can somewhere on property). No extras for dogs (no bowls, treats, etc.) and there was a sign on the lobby door clearly stating no dogs in the lobby. While waiting to check in, another guest came to exchange his room for another as the sun had overheated the north/south sides of the building--so check out the location of your room.

The good: clean and updated hotel, close to the freeway. Good value for money.
The bad: no elevator. Probably not a dealbreaker for most but our little guy has a hard time with stairs so this was rough for us.

WOW! Friendly staff, Nice safe area. Small dog area but safe to walk around the property. Surprise free supper on Wednesday! A huge room with good handicapped access.
