    Boutique Hotel

Beautiful boutique hotel, authentic Sedona style. Many rooms have outdoor dog patios. Dog treats, blankets, and poop bags left as welcome in room. Dogs were personally greeted upon arrival!

    Excellent place for dogs

We had a great time. The rooms are nice and private with private backyard spaces for the dogs, and the location is great right in the heart of Sedona. Highly recommend.

    Awesome stay

Everything was great. The lady who checked us in was super sweet and loved meeting our dogs. Have the treats and then showed us our room. They had a gift basket with more treats and blankets for the dogs. We will for sure be staying there from now on whenever we visit Sedona!

    Bow Wow yippy-yay yippy yow

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the El Portal Hotel and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. As a dog owner, finding accommodations that are both spacious and pet-friendly can be a challenge, but the El Portal Hotel exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beauty of the hotel. The decor was stylish and perfectly the Sedona vibes with special touches throughout that made me feel right at home.

The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for me and my furry friends to relax and unwind. One of the things that really stood out to me about the El Portal Hotel was how accommodating they were to pets. The staff was welcoming to my dogs and made sure that they had everything they needed to feel comfortable, including a welcome basket of dog biscuits and towels. The hotel even had a designated pet area outside, which was a great place for my dogs to stretch their legs.

In addition to being pet-friendly, the hotel was also incredibly comfortable. The bed was luxurious and I slept soundly throughout the night. The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed to feel pampered and refreshed. Overall, I would highly recommend the El Portal Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pet-friendly place to stay. The special touches throughout the hotel, combined with the friendly and accommodating staff, made my stay truly memorable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    Gem of a Hotel

I can't say enough about this hotel! We were impressed from the moment we drove up to the hotel with its beautiful hacienda ambiance throughout the property. Parking was easy and close by, staff were extremely friendly, kind and so helpful. The hotel consists of only twelve suites, so it isn't overcrowded, was so peaceful, and felt like they were opening their home to us. The courtyard was beautiful with a koi pond, beautiful greenery and an inviting outdoor fire pit with complimentary s'mores packets for hotel guests.

They also provided complimentary snacks, coffee, drinks, and pastries to their guests at all hours in their beautiful lobby, along with an expansive honor bar as well. Our room was perfect with a private outdoor patio so convenient for our dog and a fireplace to keep us all cozy. They welcomed our dog with a wonderful dog basket full of blankets, sheets, poopy bags, treats and info on dog sitters, if needed, and restaurants that will welcome our dog. Sedona overall was a very dog-friendly town and we had an amazing time during this visit. We will definitely be back to El Portal - with our dog or without him. Thank you BringFido for offering this gem of a hotel! Highly recommend!!

    Hidden Gem in Sedona

This is the nicest dog friendly place we’ve stayed. For humans, the property is great with lots of amenities (like s’mores in a fire pit). Beautiful room with a large bathroom, comfortable bed and a fireplace. For our dog, there was a welcome package with a fleece blanket, towel, sheet (to cover furniture), treats and waste bags. There is a small dog area on the property. Some of the rooms have a small fenced in yard.

    What an amazing spot

Owners are dog owners and very friendly. Rooms perfect for pups; tile floors and basket of treats and blankets to make your dogs rest in room a 10/10. Within 5 minute walk are several VERY dog friendly restaurants. Happy dog = happy owners. El Portal really one of top small hotels that are dog friendly that I’ve ever stayed at. They even have line on folks that can sit with your pup while you go out for meals and activities that are not dog friendly. Just love El Portal. Will def be back.

    Amazing Place!

A fantastic resort hotel right in the heart of Sedona. Lots of (pet-friendly) restaurants within walking distance and lots of room. Our room, #4, had a little back yard/patio area for our dog and they have a separate spot for dog relief as well. The decor is amazing, antique old-west lodge style in every room... the owners and staff are pleasant, helpful and eager to make sure your stay is a great one. Lots of little amenities and features to make the stay relaxing. We've stayed in a few places in Sedona and this dog-friendly hotel is by-far our favorite.

    This Hotel Is AMAZING!

This hotel is amazing!!! I am so glad I found it and it literally made our trip to Sedona - the best trip I've ever been ANYWHERE. Likely since I was able to be with my fur babe and know we are both having fun and not stressed!!

My company provides a sabbatical once you hit the five year mark and encourages traveling out of the country. However, I couldn't imagine leaving my fur babe Bentley alone for a long period of time. So, my boo and Bentley, made the trek from San Diego to Sedona via road trip.

We stayed in room 3 which has a doggy patio so you can let your pup out whenever to do it's thang. They provide a doggy basket with sweet items like bags, blankets etc. The room is equipped with a fireplace but being that it was June, it was too hot for us to use. HOWEVER, they also provide S'mores kits so this is now on OUR winter wonderland list travel list.

It also had a bath jacuzzi which was luscious after a long day of walking and being in the hot sun. (thanks for the bath bubble salts!) The common area - lobby/dining tables/dinette is perfect. If you have refrigerated leftovers, takeout etc. you can microwave and have all items needed. Also, the snacks are the best snacks ever at a hotel. HEALTHY and exactly what it should be when traveling in the wild southwest.

The outdoor patio courtyard with growing grapes was so therapeutic and a great spot to chill and enjoy the outdoors but get out of the very hot AZ sun. It was interesting to note: that most of the guests did NOT have dogs, which in my opinion says a lot as well. It's just such a lovely beautiful zen space that will hold a place in our hearts forever whether you are a solo traveler or you have your pack in tow.

    BENTLEY'S REVIEW:
"I give the hotel five out of five bones. It was ruff leaving after three amazing days at El Portal - I loved lounging in the courtyard napping - it was sooo good coming back to the hotel after a smokin' hot day in the AZ sun and hot rocks and sidewalks (thank heavens for booties - and thank heavens for BOW WOW SEDONA across the way) but the El Portal was PAWSitively amazing."

I loved it but not for everyone

Built as a replica of a 1910 cottage that would have been found in Sedona this small, restful inn with beautiful gardens, patios and the ambiance of another time. Our room like many others there had a private fenced outdoor yard shaded by mature trees where our dog and us were very content to relax. Our room was large but it was dark and felt dingy. Perhaps authentic to 1910 but too much so. Bathroom amenities and Linens need updating and brighter light bulbs would have improved our stay. Innkeepers hardworking and very nice but I could never get an answer on the lobby phone. Finally called the hotel from my cell to speak to someone. Maybe a call forwarding would correct this? A+ location downtown. Walk to shops, bars and restaurants.
