The hotel itself was pretty run down. They put us on the 3rd floor and there was no elevators. My dog eventually could not climb the stairs anymore....and he is a great dane so there was no carrying him.
The worst part was that there seemed to be people partying everywhere. We got there at midnight and people were driving up and down the alley blaring their horn, others smoking pot right where dogs are supposed to be going potty. Definitely not a family type hotel. It did have a pool but we did not have time the next morning to swim in it. I would not recommend. - GinaAug 4, 2021Don't bother
The 1 bone is for the nice greeting we received when we arrived very late (2am) and having a pillow to rest my head after a very long drive. Lots of activity/loitering in parking lot at that hour. Did not feel safe walking dogs. Rooms are supposedly getting remodeled. Ours was not and bathroom was not so nice.

Where to start.... property grounds are covered in dog poop. They put us on second floor by pool...pool noise = Barking. Room had no Fridge or Microwave. When I asked to change and upgrade rooms, they said I would have to cancel my reservation (through BringFido) and rebook...Not on a Saturday of Father's Day Weekend. We had to endure the night. PS: Lots of folks living in cars around property; not comfortable walking dogs :(

Firstly, there was a $50 pet fee, not free. Secondly the location and room were awful!
Thankfully we brought a cat- the number of crickets in the room kept her entertained all night.
The room hadn’t been cleaned in god knows how long, there were dead bugs, hair, and crumbs all over. Not exactly reassuring in a global pandemic.

This is the worst La Quinta I've been to. The staff are nice and understanding, but they know it is a terrible place. Very unsafe, and gross. Cars broken into, drug deals and drug use in the open, the rooms need to completely stripped and remodeled. Please avoid this location if you want a good nights sleep.

If it wasnt so late and tired after a long day we would of left. This particular hotel has been turned into transient housing. 2 people doing drugs as I was going up the stairs, mold on the bathroom walls, marijuana joint on the AC. Fleas on the comforter and people yelling profanities, and car alarms going off all night long. Front desk clerks were nice, that's my 1 bone above. Google says 3.5 stars..not even close!

We were moving and had items stored in our cars. I asked La Quinta if our cars would be Okay. They’d said it was risky - crime was high all over Bakersfield. I appreciated the honesty, but given the rowdy people in the parking lot at midnight, I didn’t sleep well that night. Got up frequently to check on our vehicles. The motel was also in need of renovation and focus on cleanliness. Found a condom in the bathtub drain. We should have left and found a new place, but we were so exhausted we just surrendered.

Place was just okay. Some grass areas. Area seemed a little unsafe. Husband made sure he was always with us when I took the dog out for a walk.

Lots of grassy areas to walk dogs on, complete with poop bags & trash cans. The room was nice. My only hesitation was the neighborhood, there seemed to be lots of homeless on the street by the motel.

Friendly staff, but it’s a motel-like setup in a questionable area. The shower was so dirty I chose to skip a shower, and our dog found a previous guest’s empty Gatorade bottle under the bed. Breakfast was sad, with the only options being cereal, prepackaged muffins, or waffles.
Overall, a decent enough place if you’re only after a cheap place to sleep. If you expect cleanliness or breakfast options consider skipping it for somewhere else.
