        Fantastic stay!

Reading some of the reviews we were a bit apprehensive about staying in a BBF cabin, but it went beyond our expectations. We brought our 4 month old corgi and the queen studio cabin was roomy and comfortable for all 3 of us, with a full kitchen perfect for when we didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of finding a dog-friendly patio in the winter. The TV was also a huge perk for when it was too cold to do anything outside. Very dog friendly, with a little park right outside and stunning views of the lake. The only thing was the temperature was kind of finnicky, with the heater being either way too warm or freezing, but we brought along a mini fan and it was fine.

        Very Happy

2nd time visiting, both Summer and winter offer different activities. Summer we stayed down by the water, awesome. Winter closer to the office with the jetted tub and fireplace, very happy. both visits our doggy was very happy too. Staff is too kind and very pet friendly. Of coarse we'll be returning again, close to the village for shopping and eating in a dog friendly town.

        great value, VERY dog friendly

We had an amazing experience at big bear frontier. They provided a drop towel for our dog's water bowl and were very friendly to our pit bull/great dane mix (and the rest of our family). We played horse shoes on site, swam in the lake, and walked around the town. It was a very enjoyable experience.

        Never Again

This was my very first road trip alone (with my pup, Mollee) and booked BBF because of the rave reviews I drove 8 1/2 hours to get to the Big Bear Frontier and was so looking forward to my stay. I don't know where the other reviewers stayed but it wasn't at the BBF in cabin 27. Carpet stains from previous pets, Holes in the walls, Dirty bathroom towels, Lights that didn't work, Heater was so loud I couldn't use it, Ants all over the kitchen area, Curtains wouldn't close all the way so no privacy,
The next morning I went to the front desk to get another cabin and the manager told me "No, because if you are that picky about this room I'd be just as picky about any other room and I would just want another free night. I couldn't believe a manager (or any other person) could be that rude. Needless to say, I checked out. They did refund the money for the upgrade and BringFido.com refunded my total costs. I know I sound like a snobby moaning person, but I truly am just the opposite. I think I could have made due with the room, but not the was I was treated. If I could give a lower rating, I would.

        Great cabin

We stayed in Cabin 3. It was nice and cozy. I loved the fireplace and that they're pet friendly. A plus for a pet friendly place is that the cabin also wasn't torn up... A lot of pet hotels seem to give up on upkeep. The public hot tub by the pool was nice, but didn't bubble up like it should've. I think the pool is heated because we could see steam coming off of it at night :) the staff was super friendly and polite. 4 stars because the ac/heat was impossible to get it comfortable (it was either too cold or too hot) and there were ants in the bathroom. I know it's a cabin but it seems like pest control could take care of that. It was a handful of ants but still annoying. The red door on the cabins are very cute and I do like the location near the village. If you want lakefront be sure to request a certain cabin number, I believe #29 was lakefront

        great room, great value!!!

I booked a standard room with 2 queen beds in the lodge for my friend, his dog, and myself. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was right on the lake, with a lovely deck adjacent to the lodge. The room was quaint and clean! The front desk employee was great--she lent us some playing cards, a movie, and we purchased a couple of duraflame logs for a couple bucks each to burn in the cute fireplace in the room. I highly recommend Big Bear Frontier and would definitely go back to room 118 in the lodge!

        very dog friendly!

Had great accommodations, pool, movies for rent, pool table, ping pong, and a horse shoe pit plus a small grassy yard for our dog to run around. They even had lounge chairs set up lake side. The frontier was clean and

        Very Comfortable

I would've given 5 but our room needed maintenance (ie: jacuzzi tub button fell off and remote didn't work). BUT the staff was so friendly and welcoming and seemed to care that you had a nice stay. It was conveniently located to everything but so peaceful at night that we had no trouble sleeping. I would also recommend the Cowboy Express restaurant across the street. You can, food is great, and both our large dogs were welcome on the patio. Great stay!

        Beyond our expectations!

Our dog was welcomed there, to the point where there were dog biscuits at the front desk. :-) Between the pool, available videos and library onsite, and the proximity to excellent restaurants it was an ideal place to get away. I would recommend Frontier to anyone coming to Big Bear.

        Noisy Party Building

We go to Big Bear frequently but had never stayed here until this season. I won't stay here again because the noise kept me up all night ruining my vacation. There were parties going on in rooms next door and above me. In fact it sounded like someone was moving furniture in the room above me all night. The dogs were wound up and I was exhausted.
On the up side, if you like to party, this is a great location! The room was nice, the in-room spa was nice, fit 2 people comfortably and the location was convenient. For the dogs, the little beach and lake access was great. They had fun. However, I have to stress that when checking in, I was made to sign something saying that I WOULD NOT leave the dogs unattended in the room. When I asked them about it, they said it was fine, but they reserved the right to change their mind. I thought that was odd. They also charged $15 per dog per night extra, and required a $100 pet deposit.

        BBF was awesome!

Berkley loved staying at the BBF. They were super sweet to himand the accomodations for all was very nice. We were upgraded to a cabin for free. We went hiking during the day and loved it. They also had free movies, internet and spa tub...it was great! I am picky and would hign reccomend this place.

BB Frontier is the way to go!

Our dog was able to stay for a reasonable rate. We were also allowed to leave her in our room while we were away skiing, which is not always the case at hotels that allow dogs. As for the hotel itself, we stayed in a studio room. There was a bed, a reading chair, a table and two chair, a small kitchenette with dishes, cups, coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, and sink, and a bathroom with a one-person-at-a-time jacuzzi tub. One more thing, the bed was super comfty! When we return to BB we'll be staying at the Frontier!

My boy had a great time!

And so did we! Went to this place because it has the top rating on bringfido.com. The staff was very friendly and they didn't bother us at all during our stay. We felt very relaxed about having our American Pit Bull Terrier allowed on the property. I even called in advance to make sure he was allowed. The person on the phone said as long as he was friendly and she added they love pit bulls! That was a big plus and that was the selling point for me. So if you like a place that doesn't discriminate against "Bully" breeds like rottweilers, pit bulls and such, come here because any dog will feel loved and will love it here.

        Almost perfect

Big Bear Frontier is a nice place in a very wonderful location by the Village. You can get to the lake or walk downtown. The rooms are comfy and nicely prepared. We had a good time but we found some annoying details as well:
        1) The heating fan was so load it woke us up everytime it was going off. It was so annoying to the point we had to trun off the heater which is not fun especially during the night.
        2) Same thing with the bathroom fan. We were taking a shower and had to scream to talk. C'mon, these things are so easy to maintain, why do you have to make such a nice place feel like getto?
        3) The Jacuzzi in the room was awesome, but we had to call to have warm water available. Appearently they had problems with the system, but could not be fixed properly in the three days (weekdays) we spent there.

Overall a good experience, but could have been fantastic.

        Cheers

Big Bear Frontier is a Winner!!

We only stayed for one night due to prior plans but definately would have stayed longer. The Frontier staff was great! Very friendly very down to earth and made us feel right at home. The pet accomidations were great. We have a lrage dog (newfoundland/Lab mix) and he was welcomed with open arms. The heated pool was terrific and we enjoyed the jacuzzi as well. The lake is within very close walking distance as well as places to eat. We won't be staying anywhere else on our next Big Bear visit. Thanks to everyone at the Frontier for a job well done!

        Our Stay at the Frontier

We had only planned on staying one night and loved it so much that we stayed for two nights. We were in walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Plus we were able to bring our pets and leave our worries at home. The accomodations were great we had a stove, fridge, microwave and an extra pull out bed. Movies were supplied to us at our request. The pool was wonderful, thre was a basketball crt. and a pool table indoors. My family and I give the Frontier a thumbs up.

        Big Bear Frontier Review

Our room was ok but nothing worth coming back for. We had no microwave as advertised and no table to eat on. It is not easy going out to dinner with a dog so we had to pick something up and bring it back to the room and use the bed as a table. Actually, the bed worked better as a table than a bed. It was very uncomfortable. On our second night we finally got up at 2am and left for home. The fire place was nice. Sorry, but we won't be coming back.

        Big Bear Frontier Experience

Overall good and very nice that they execpt pets. The fireplace was large and stone and microwave/frig/coffee made it convenient. There is a nice little beach by the lake to take your dog when nature calls...be responsible and clean up. Only down side: We were on the ground floor in the hotel part and not the individual cabins. You could hear every foot step of the person above all night long. It seemed they would come thru the ceiling if they jumped. Suggest not staying on the ground floor of the hotel.
