Reviews
- TiffanyFeb. 14, 2021Great location
We rented the 1 bedroom cabin with our 2 dogs. The bedroom is large and the fireplace in the bedroom was very nice. I was actually glad the carpets were not perfect because we had our dogs. We did clean their feet after every walk out in the snow but theh still were kinda dirty.
The bed was super comfortable. We loved being close to the lake. If there wasn't 2 feet of snow ther would be a nice grass area for the dogs with poop bags provided as well. We will definitely be coming back.
Just some minor things. The wifi wasn't working at the time and the livingroom space was super super tiny so definitely not for a family.
(Which is was just my husband and I and the 2 dogs so we were fine. Just letting others know). - ChristaFeb. 12, 2021Great location, very sweet cabin
These cabins were very clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly at check in. We are eager to stay here again in the near future!
- ShelleyJul. 15, 2020It was okay, but not worth the price.
My sister and I decided to take our two dogs (one 13+ year old Siberian Husky and one 2 year old Great Pyrenees) to Big Bear to escape the chaos of 4th of July in the valley. For one night, the rate was high - even if it was a holiday - when the resort was clearly not full. The website boasts that the resort has been completely remodeled, but our unit came complete with a lamp with broken parts, a ceiling fan that made constant loud clicking noises, and a DVD player that only played in black and white (but the TV itself worked fine).
We walked the pups numerous times during our brief stay and I don't recall seeing any pet stations as noted on the website either. There are no screen doors on the units and no clear indication that there is no a/c when booking. It was very warm and opening the windows was just not enough when paired with the tiny ceiling fans. If the units had screen doors, it would allow much more cool air to circulate while keeping the pups indoors.
To top it off, our "neighbors" left their pup (totally allowed) in their unit while they left for several hours. The dog NEVER STOPPED BARKING the entire time they were gone. Very annoying.
While we will continue our plan of getting away for the 4th to try and protect our pups, I don't think we'll be returning to Big Bear Frontier any time soon. It's just not worth the cost. - ErinJun. 28, 2020Perfect location!
Great place! My dogs had a blast swimming and hiking! Everything is close and convenient!
- AngelinaMar. 14, 2019Fantastic stay!
Reading some of the reviews we were a bit apprehensive about staying in a BBF cabin, but it went beyond our expectations. We brought our 4 month old corgi and the queen studio cabin was roomy and comfortable for all 3 of us, with a full kitchen perfect for when we didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of finding a dog-friendly patio in the winter. The TV was also a huge perk for when it was too cold to do anything outside. Very dog friendly, with a little park right outside and stunning views of the lake. The only thing was the temperature was kind of finnicky, with the heater being either way too warm or freezing, but we brought along a mini fan and it was fine.
- RonDec. 12, 2018Very Happy
2nd time visiting, both Summer and winter offer different activities. Summer we stayed down by the water, awesome. Winter closer to the office with the jetted tub and fireplace, very happy. both visits our doggy was very happy too. Staff is too kind and very pet friendly. Of coarse we'll be returning again, close to the village for shopping and eating in a dog friendly town.
