Hofsa’s House allows dogs but other hotels in Carmel really welcome them (special features, bowls, goodies, etc.). The rooms smelled horrible due to some kind of spray they were using, which could bother dogs as much as people. Walls are famously thin, meaning your dog hears everything and everyone hears your dog. Location is good though.

The deadbolt on the door not usable. Looks like someone messed with it and cannot lock it with a key. Several slats on the window shutters broken. Screw missing on the stove control knob cover plate. Disappointed because recommended as dog friendly. No dog bowl, treats, bed; nothing dog friendly. Not even a designated area for a dog to relieve itself. Was gifted this trip by our kids for 49th anniversary and special request to acknowledge was included with booking. No bottle of wine or chocolates. Cost of hotel considerably more than what was advertised on Fido. On the positive, room clean and comfortable. Great view of the ocean and balcony very nice. Continental breakfast included which was appreciated. Twenty minute walk to the beach. Have not decided if I would stay here again. So many great looking hotels here in Carmel.

We were on the second floor with a view of the ocean and sunset. Beautiful. Room was clean and comfortable

Close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Yet, away from the crowds. Carrie and her staff were great. At night, our fur baby Trey was able to relax next to the fireplace in the lobby. And, he loved the nearby no leash beach.

Hotel was accommodating and the restaurants in town were dog friendly. The beach was the highlight of the dog’s visit to Carmel.

Just a few blocks from everything in Carmel - a very dog friendly town! Fabulous dog friendly beach. The balcony rooms are great. Hotel staff was super, maps included locations of all dog friendly restaurants.

This hotel was very cute, and extremely clean. The location is perfect—walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach. The continental breakfast was a great feature, as well. We would love to come back again!

Good location with good areas to potty. A bit on the pricier side at 30/night for dog fee.
