Reviews
- DjDec. 8, 2022Great Outdoor Experience
They were very pet friendly and the room was exceptional for access to the outside grassy area. They heated the tented patio area so we could sit outside at the restaurant with our dog.
- NicoleDec. 4, 2022Amazing!!!
Great place to stay with the pups!
- RobinNov. 13, 2022Beautiful setting!
And they love dogs! It shows!
- ReneeNov. 2, 2022Best Pup Vacation Ever!
Where do we begin? Oh I know, upon entering the lodge the pups were welcome up their own stairs to the front desk for their dog bones and welcome package. We stayed in one of the cabins, which I highly recommend, and felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Later that day we found gifts of a dog bed, dog bowl, doggie bags, and more treats. We were welcome to dine with our pups inside or out for every meal. They were welcomed in the lodge our our puppy actually wined when we had to leave the lobby for dinner because so many people were paying attention to him.
And the cherry on the cake? They have pup sitting! Yosemite is stunning and there are lots of paved trails, but the idea that you can leave your pups in good hands while you hike, or go to the pool or enjoy the spa is just amazing! We cannot imagine what else they could have done to make us feel so welcome and part of their family! This will be our only dog friendly destination hotel in Yosemite for a very long time!
- MicheleOct. 30, 2022Awesome place for base camp!
Clean and nice, great experience on our second stay, same as first!
- RobertFeb. 11, 2022Beautiful setting
The Tenaya Lodge is not cheap. But the location, the service, the quality of the facilities is worth every penny. Their commitment to accommodating our pets is top notch. Highly recommended.
- LeslieJan. 24, 2022Very dog friendly!
My dog Sofi and I had a great time staying here for 5 days. The staff is very dog friendly and this is a really nice place to stay. Highly recommend!
- RobertJan. 2, 2022Good for Fido, not so much people
The Lodge is run on a little staffing and as cheaply as possible. They just can’t seem to get the little things right, especially with food. Dogs had fun enough in the snow to get three bones. Plenty of room and tolerance for them, too. Just expect to be disappointed with many guest services.
- AlanNov. 2, 2021You are in nature
Wonderful staff, clean, modern decor, enjoyed the interior and outdoor pool, fine dining and to-go food. Must stay for a week next time. Would definitely invite my family and friends.
- GJul. 27, 2021Pet friendly but....
A bit pricey but rooms are nice and location is perfect. Close to entrance of Yosemite. The lodge itself is very pet friendly, you can bring your pup pretty much everywhere. There is a nice 1 mile hike you can take right on the premises with the pup which was great. We left the pup in a crate in the room while we took the kids to the pool just to realize upon our return that a neighbor complained about the pup whining and staff came and took her from the room. No one called even though they said they did. We had to retrieve her from the front office which was a bit upsetting for the kids. Besides that, the place is very pet friendly and has ample pet waste stations and quite enjoyable overall for the whole family.
- AngelaMay. 19, 2021Enjoyed A Long Weekend Getaway
The lodge is extremely pet friendly. The staff is warm and inviting. The distance to Yosemite South entrance is about a 5-minute drive. We had an overall wonderful experience.
- MichelleApr. 6, 2021Great Place
We had a floor unit which made it easy to take out our pet. The people were friendly and the room was clean. I will definitely stay here again.
- KellieFeb. 25, 2021Great ... even during COVID
A little short on staff but fun for both people and our pups!
- SaraFeb. 21, 2021Lovely place
We and our pup loved this place! The rooms were luxurious, clean, and comfortable and the property is beautiful, surrounded by trees. It was the perfect place to unwind after Yosemite. There was plenty of space for our dog, who loved the complimentary treats and toys. There’s also a decent restaurant and deli on site. We loved it and can’t wait to go again.
- PriyaFeb. 18, 2021Great location!!!
Explorer cabins have ample room for kids and dogs and with a pet-friendly neighborhood, snow play time was fun. Fire fall this week in the Yosemite valley about an hour away added to wonderful experience. Thanks!!
- EmilyNov. 19, 2020Closest dog-friendly lodging to the park
We've stayed a few times and always enjoy it. Dogs are allowed throughout the hotel, though you cannot leave them alone in rooms (like most hotels). The dog fee is $100 for your stay for up to 2 dogs and they're accommodating with bowls, dog beds, etc. They usually have a dog sitting service in-house but that's not currently operating during COVID. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are clean and well maintained. I prefer their cottages, which are slightly offsite but offer a little more privacy and ease of getting out for potty trips. :)
- WillNov. 18, 2020Trying to be high class
Great location! The hotel is nice and very pet friendly. The staff were awesome. Very warm and polite. Only issue was the food. Its really expensive but not on par with the price. They have you trapped for food as well. Oakhurst os a good 20 min drive down the mountain in good weather and traffic. We would stay again based on the other amenities but will plan to eat in town or in Yosemite.
- KimberlyOct. 29, 2020Wonderful Getaway
We have been to Tenaya Lodge many times with our dogs. It is a lovely and large property which allows for nice walks without ever leaving the property. There is also a nice trail- the Tenaya Lodge Loop Trail which extends where you can walk and gets the dogs into the woods for a little jaunt.
We stayed in one of the cabin rooms and I would not recommend paying the extra money for these rooms, I don’t feel like the room added anything to our stay. I highly recommend the Tenaya Lodge for a nice relaxing trip during any season, though. - ElizabethOct. 23, 2020Great location for Yosemite south
Have been in nicer people rooms but definitely perfect for the pup
