The hotel is literally off Highway 1 which made getting in and out of the hotel parking lot challenging during traffic. It was close to a dog friendly beach that had a paved walkway which was nice!

The Quality Inn at Half Moon Bay had what we needed for our stay. We loved that we were close enough to the Coastal Walkway so that we could wander several miles down with the dogs to get their energy out. We also liked the proximity to town, the marina and the beaches. Half Moon Bay also has a great breakfast place called Main Street Grill, since the hotel breakfast did not excite us.

Nothing spectacular but it was quiet, clean and included breakfast. We found a nice paved trail a few blocks behind the hotel for an evening walk. The trail runs along the shore line and offers spectacular views. There is beach access but no dogs allowed on the beach.

If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive place for you and your good, this may work for you. Clean, very nice staff, and small fridge and microwave in our room which we needed for our dogs special meals. King bed - good mattress, good pillows. Odd bathroom design - not particularly functional. Would have been nice to have a second sink around the fridge microwave area. Room small but fine for day tripping. $45 per night for our small dog who uses pee pads with regularity. Seemed a bit high. No elevator so if you have mobility problems ask for a first floor room. Also, due to COVID there is no cleaning service until day three. We were there two nights and they did give us fresh towels - we didn't care about the bed linens but something to be aware of if you expect something else. Enjoyed our stay - would go there again.
