        Casa Munras Hotel

Very Dog Friendly. Staff was excellent. Treats in Lobby. Dogs OK in outdoor large heated outdoor patio part of restaurant and various places inside hotel. Rooms were large and nice. No microwave (not a suite type), but quiet, large heated pool (no outdoor spa) but was a very affordable near resort feel place. Only 6 blocks or so from the Monterey Wharf.

Enjoyed happy hour with tappas and they have a full dog menu also!

But omg it does say but they do not tell you $17 a day to park WTF...why not just add it to the room rate...kinda a joke $17 to the lot..good to see no one was the restaurant..over priced anyway...happy holidays...

        Perfect setting

Although it may not seem to be good for dogs as it is downtown, Casa Munras had a wonderful property layout for walking a pet. And it had bags and a trash can to make it easy for the visitor.

        Great spot for weekend getaway.

Our original hotel fell through and most of the places were sold out. luckily there was an available room at this motel for a low rate coming from BringFido. The staff was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised.

There’s a dog friendly beach nearby, and Cannery Row is only about 15 minutes away.

Random perks to renting a room here: 2 large dogs are welcome. On-site washer and dryers. Cheap vending machines.

        great location

A great room for both my daughter and our animals.

        Good location

Well-kept hotel & property. Nice pool, but no jacuzzi. The king-bed room we rented with our dog was very small. The water pressure in bathroom sink was terrible. The $50 dog fee and the $16/nite parking was high. We were also surrounded by smokers which was tough if you wanted fresh air in your room. I will probably not stay there the next trip to Monterey as I will be sure to book early and not settle as I did this time.

This hotel has set the bar on dog-friendly!

After staying in many hotels with two dogs (boxers) when we went on a 2800 mile road trip with them, we discovered that there is a distinct difference in "dog friendly" and "we upcharge you but offer nothing". Casa Munras was the absolute best we have ever experienced. Their hotel, and restaurant are dog centered, they provide a dog grassy area, and they even have a menu for the pups at the restaurant. The dogs had just as much fun as we did! We are already thinking on a return trip...

        Great location, friendly employees

We were able to walk everywhere. Our two labs were very happy in the room, which opened to the grass area. Great dog hotel.

        Great place

Beautiful room. Pool was nice and warm. Staff was helpful and friendly. Menu for the restaurant was a bit limited but it was convenient to have. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if it had been a bit closer to the tourist sites, but it was walking distance from the Wharf and the shuttle to the aquarium.

        Nice place.

We stayed here two nights & booked the Deluxe double queen room. When we checked in they gave us a standard queen room which was tiny for 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog. Luckily my husband realized the error and they changed us to the room we originally booked. It was almost twice the size and great room to move around in! The dog area is just above the pool area and was always clean. It is also a decent size, not just a small patch of grass. There is also enough walking areas around the hotel but maybe not a good idea if you are alone at night. Very clean room, nice staff and the noise from neighbors was minimum. Restaurant on site is nice but pricey and they allow your fur baby to dine on the outside patio with you.

        Worth the money

Book 2 months in advance for a discount. Ask for a new room. Dog lawn was clean at all times as were the grounds. My dogs didn't smell any prior pets in the spacious king room. We stayed 4 nights. Don't bother with concierge service - just come to this site instead. Pretty place. I don't like white walls and the color theme is quite comfortable if bright gives you a headache. Everything was very clean.

        Awesome stay

We wanted a quick getaway so came down for just a night with the dog. It's in a great location just off the downtown so we were able to walk for dinner and drinks.

The staff were fantastic and incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms weren't very large, but we didn't come to spend time in the hotel so it worked for our purposes. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we probably slept in longer than we would have otherwise because of that.

They are doing some updating so we could hear some noise, but it wasn't a big deal and we only heard it because things were pretty quiet on a Friday morning. Kids running around were more disruptive, which is to say it really was no big deal.

        We will definitely be back.

        One night stay

The downstairs unit with 2 beds we had was really dated. It had spots on the carpet, the walls needed some painting, and it was noisy being next to the parking lot. Doesn't seemed to be any sound proofing with the windows, walls, or ceiling. We could hear people walking in the unit above us. The room and the beds were also smaller than any previous hotels we have stayed at. Definitely doesn't appeared anything close to the modern looking lobby. This hotel is pet friendly as we brought our 2 dogs. They did charged a pet fee of $50. The only nice thing about this hotel is that it is located within 10 minutes walking distance to the Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Needless to say, we won't be staying here again.

        Monterey weekend

Stayed in the appropriately named cozy queen room. It was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. No special accommodations for the pooches, but there was space to walk them about the grounds and the neighboring area. The restaurant featured a Tapas menu, was conveniently located on the same lot and we walked over and enjoyed our meal there. I would stay there again.

        Enjoyed the stay!

This hotel is exceptional. Big grounds, a few areas where you can take the dogs out and about a ten minute walk from Fisherman's wharf. One downside is there is no bathtub in the single queen room, but the price of a double queen room is the same. Very clean and had treat bags for the dogs. All in all I would definately go back!
