We were pleasantly surprised by this place. They are friendly and have water and snacks waiting for you at check-in. The rooms are old, but very clean. There are green belt areas behind the hotel for walking your pet. Also a great restaurant next door.

When I told the check-in clerk that I had a very good dog and no one would know I had a dog in my room, he waived the pet service fee!

Good for the dogs, large rooms. Shower not great, but room clean. The dog walking area was very sparse. Adjacent neighborhood VERY snippy about walking dogs there. Breakfast so bad not worth even mentioning. Front desk staff very friendly.

Despite a few little hitches at check in, we had a good stay in a comfortable and quiet room. The perfect quick stop on our way up to Lake Tahoe.

Information on Bring Fido about the Rodeway is out of date. The photos do not reflect current room decor (no ez chairs now), there IS now a pet fee of $20 per pet, and there is NOT food service or breakfast.
The room was clean. The staff was nice. We were given a snack bag.
The bed was lumpy. The room was noisy! Our door had a half-inch gap on the lower left side below the knob to the bottom. You could see (and hear) the hallway when the door was latched! Not ideal for bark control in a place that takes dogs.
One other comment: the grounds where a dog could relieve itself were not clean when we were there.
Overall, we would not choose this location again.

This was an older property that must have been a great, resort type property in it's prime. It's past it's prime now, but we really liked staying here. It has good areas for the pets, and was quiet. The size of the rooms, and common areas made this a very comfortable stay. Retro but highly recommended.
