    Comfortable and safe

I’ve spent a week here. I like having the kitchen so I can avoid eating out. The bed is comfortable, residents are quiet and there are blackout curtains so one can get a good night’s sleep. The staff are all kind and helpful. Parking is well lit and they have a night security guy who keeps an eye out, though the front gate gets locked around 9pm so I don’t know how anyone would get in after that. You use your room key card to open the gate, but if arriving after it’s closed, look for a call button to push and they’ll let you in. Office is open 24/7. Nice grass outside the front entrance with bags for dogs to potty. Room was very clean. Nice place to stay with your dog.

    Everything required and no more

Decent location, but you need a car or to use Uber/Lyft to get groceries and for this reason I wish they kept the gate open.

    Nice location

Great prices, easy access except for the elevator that was out of service. No frills, except there is a kitchen and you can request basic kitchen items. Easy to get around San Diego by car, a little noisy, our dog wanted to bark, but no big deal. We didn’t find the grass, although we spent a lot of time at the parks while my wife attended a conference. I’d stay again. Appreciated the human breakfast bars in the lobby; didn’t try the coffee, but nice there was some available. Thank you for kind service.

    They Locked Out Guests

I did a three state road trip. One day drive was all the way through California, Mt. Shasta to San Diego Ca. 12 hours on the road with my dogs. When I arrived at Extended Stay America they had the gate to the entrance of the parking lot locked. I couldn't believe it. I drove around thinking I had the wrong entrance, but no, it was the only entrance onto the property. After about 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to get to the lobby I called the phone number on the website that had the local area code. A man answered the phone with an accent so thick he sounded like he was drunk. He said the hotel was closed and to come back at 7am. I could not believe it!

I went next door to The Hampton Inn and asked the attendant at the front desk to please call the number I had just called because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She got the same response. I called the 800 number on the Extended Stay America San Diego Home Circle website and the man on the phone told me that all the Extended Stay America computers were down and no one was being allowed into hotels nationwide. The Hampton Inn attendant set me and my dogs up with a pet friendly room and said she had never heard of a hotel locking their doors to hotel guests. By the time I got to my hotel room, I was literally trembling from fatigue from the road and the stress from the situation with Extended Stay America.

    Quiet and easy

Stay one night after the Oscars before driving home to Los Angeles. Close parking to the room. Easy check-in and quiet.

    Much better than Motel 6

This hotel cost a bit more than Motel 6 but was worth the extra money. The staff was very friendly and pleasant, the room was spacious and clean, plus having a kitchenette helped us save $$$ with food. Would stay here again.

    Good location for large dog

This property worked for us while traveling with our 75 lb dog. Several areas of grass with poop bags/garbage cans available. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms and property were clean but our window wouldn’t shut all the way or lock (2nd floor). Area is a little sketchy but property has security and is gated.
