The hotel is the closest property to SeaWorld and within minutes of San Diego's most popular attractions including the San Diego Zoo San Diego Wild Animal Park and Balboa Park. For those seeking a spectacular resort setting the hotels waterfront facilities include two sparkling pools and two spas set in a tropical recreation area. The full-service concierge can make arrangements for tours dinner reservations and attraction tickets. Shuttle service is available for arriving and departing guests only to the Airport Amtrak and Cruise Ship Terminal. SeaWorld shuttle service is also available and the schedule varies based upon park hours. All shuttle service is limited based upon availability and is subject to change. Parking is available at a charge of 12 per night. For great dining experiences look no further than the hotel's own Blue Pearl and Firefly Bar and Grill. The Dana on Mission Bay offers beautifully appointed rooms and suites nestled among 10 tropically landscaped acres in the heart of San Diegos Mission Bay Aquatic Park. Accommodations are located in two distinct areas Waters Edge or Marina Cove. The Waters Edge guest rooms and suites are located in two sweeping curvilinear three-story buildings overlooking Mission Bay and were constructed in 2004. The Marina Cove accommodations are centrally located on the property have been recently renovated and offer marina views pool views courtyard views and non-view rooms. Many of rooms and suites feature wet-bars with refrigerators microwaves and coffeemakers to make guests stays that much more comfortable. Some also feature flexible sleeping options with king or queen-sized beds as well as sofa beds.

Safe Stay: The Dana On Mission Bay has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay and sealed after cleaning.     Great grassy area!

    My dog loved the Dana, and they even upgraded our room for no extra charge. Great big area with grass for you to run around with your dog. Nice amenities as well!

    Great location right on the bay!

    Very dog friendly, they even have doggie goody bags with a cute water bowl with their logo on it to keep :))

    Bad choice

    The hotel was not kept clean and there was very little security. It was overly expensive for its value. I will not stay there again.

    Great Location!

    Great location for exploring San Diego. We strolled Balboa Park and Old Town with our old boy Max, both were less than 20 minutes away. Spent a morning at Dog Beach, which is super close. The grounds of The Dana were great for strolling with Max, offering plenty of green space for Max to enjoy. The swag bag included a bowl, toy, and some treats! This will be out go-to place for future visits to San Diego.

    Great Resort!

    The resort was def pet friendly! Our dog loved it and my family did too! We had such a great experience, the staff was all very friendly and the location was beautiful! They even have a pet friendly restaurant on site. We received a dog bowl and a small goodie bag which was so thoughtful and much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Big area for dogs to walk on

    Nice location to stay with your fur babies, relaxing. We got the room in the second floor with marina view, my dog got scared of the stairs, had to be carried. Nice big area for them to walk around the marina, firefly restaurant is dog friendly. Tip: better to book the room with private patio, but more expensive, just open the gate and dog has access to the grass.

    Dogs are truly welcome

    The front desk provided a doggy welcome bag and the room was great. Dogs were everywhere; it was great.

    Great location!

    We had a wonderful stay at The Dana on Mission Bay! The doggy welcome bag was cute, the treats appreciated. The hotel is in a great location, service is excellent, overall a great place to stay.

    Great location!

    Nice hotel to stay at for guests with dogs. There is plenty of space to walk your dog and a few pet relief areas. At Check In I did not receive the "Dog Arrival Kit" as described on their website. All they gave was a plastic bag with a few dog treats and a few dog waste bags.

    Nice Hotel

    The hotel was in a beautiful setting and was a great location for access to the dog beach in OB. We were given the welcome bag for the dog but were never given water or treats at the Firefly Restaurant— and we were there a total of five times! Maybe you had to ask? The room itself was in an older section of the resort. It had a musty smell and sand in the shower from previous residents. They did deduct the resort fee from our bill when my husband mentioned the problems, so that was nice. Would stay there again, but would pay up for a room in the newer section where there is a bay view and direct access to a large grassy area.

    Room with a view!!

    The Dana was amazing!!
    Great location and the staff is super friendly. they even gave Kira a welcoming gift which was a water bowl. it turned out to be perfect because I actually forgot her water bowl at home so our stay there was off to a great start. Our room was on the second floor and I was a little worried about the stairs but Kira had no problem going up and down the stairs I was actually excited about having a room on the second floor because our room had a view of the marina and it was absolutely beautiful. I would Definitely stay here again.

    Great Spot but No Dog Welcoming

    Hi, we chose this spot because if it’s location and it’s seeming catering to our 4-legged friends. Maybe COVID-19 policies have changed things (and if so, they should specify that on their website) but there was nothing welcoming or accommodating for having pets in tow. We did eat at the onsite restaurant which had outdoor ng and Although he didn’t say anything, the sever seemed bothered by Our very small dogs and didn’t even offer water for them. We also couldn’t find The advertised dog waste bags (luckily had some in the car). Will try again post-COVID-19 because the location is great and the grounds were nice!

    Best Hotel For Dogs!

    WE loved staying here with our guy. We moved to a bigger room because the standard was a bit tight fit. They moved us with no problem (slight price increase, but it was worth it ). He was welcomed everywhere and lots of areas to walk him.

    Great Location and Amenities

    We often visit San Diego and The Dana is our definite “go to” hotel. It’s located on Mission Bay, within minutes to the freeway, dog friendly beaches, and Sea World. It’s also has nice walking areas and a park right beside the property. On the bayside of the property, the Dana has rooms on the ground floor with a locking, gated porch that allows direct access to a large grassy area.
