Clean room, easy areas for dogs.

Hotel was retro. Our room was on second level and no elevator in that particular part of the hotel. Small grassy areas for dogs and bags were provided. Breakfast was limited with no hot food provided.

My 134-pound dog was my paramount consideration for our stay. Numerous designated pet areas and plenty of room to walk around and explore the property. Staff were great with her even though she is probably not the type and size of dog they generally see. I highly recommend this La Quinta Inn for you and your dog companion.

The hotel needs a facelift. Sidewalks were stained and dirty and trash wasn't clean up regularly. My room was clean and in good repair. Bed was comfortable everything worked, but it just felt like it could use an upgrade. Staff was friendly, breakfast was OK, I guess they were in pandemic mode. You took a bag with a muffin and granola bar in it, and filled it with fruit, yogurt and small juice drinks. I don't drink coffee so I have no opinion on the coffee that was offered. The location seemed to be favored by blue collar (road crew) workers. When the company trucks are put in reverse you hear the "beep, beep" for 20 seconds or so, but it seemed to happen several times a day. Night time was quiet. I chose the location because of price but I would have paid more for a more desirable location, closer to the beach/downtown.

Room convenient to doggie walk area just outside room door, plenty of poop bags, nice continental breakfast, quiet, fridge & microwave in room. Heads up, you need to use card for payment, no cash accepted.

first of all don’t let the picture of this hotel for you, that is definitely not the same hotel . This hotel you can literally see people are living there, dealing drugs probably.. I was so nervous that I paid for my room and then I went to the pier and came back and left and took all of our stuff out of the room.. I don’t know how this hotel has any good reviews, I am in shock!

We stayed in a room in the backside of the building. While I was checking in, my girlfriend took our dog to take care of his business. A homeless man was hanging out between the trees yelling out stuff. It was very uncomfortable for her. When we returned from our outing that evening, some guy pulled up in a car, got out, and approached me mistaking me for someone else. He was there to complete a drug deal. That same night, the noise level outside didn't quiet down until after 1:00 am. Sunday evening was quieter. However, the next morning, when we were getting ready to check out, I found a cockroach in my clothes. We will not return to this location ever again.

In our experience, the Ventura La Quinta Inn is a great place to stay with your dog. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and welcoming of dogs. The prices are very reasonable, especially since there are no pet fees.
