  Difficult with dog

  we were given an 8th floor room. to get there, you have to take an elevator (that is NOT a smooth ride, so an anxious dog or inexperienced dog may be stressed by this) to the 6th floor, and then walk down a dingy hallway with several turns and get on a second elevator to get to the 8th floor. it is then a big trek to get back outside. when you FINALLY get outside, there is not a place to potty - you have to go across the street to some random strip of grass by the road. the hotel is also crowded with people, and my sweet Australian shepherd was very stressed out when children came running full speed from around a corner in a narrow hallway. she barked and scared them, but it was because they scared HER! obviously we control our dog and don’t let her lunge at children, but the complete lack of sensitivity of these and other guests left us very excited to leave this hotel. in the future we will be in an Airbnb or even a campsite if we return to Breck.

  also, the pet fee is $60. this seems unreasonable given the lack of dog friendly features like access to stairs instead of elevators, a room on a lower floor when you book with dogs, easier access to get outside, and a place to potty once outside.

  as an aside, parking is a nightmare here. tiny expensive parking garage that runs out of spaces.

  avoid if possible, especially if you have a medium to large higher energy breed, or younger puppy.

  Great place for dogs

  We always have a great experience here. The rooms and balcony are large so we are not crowded. They are very welcoming to dogs, and there are lots of places to walk and explore just across the street.

  Not a place for dogs or people

  I really wish ZERO bones was an option they put us on the 7th floor. None of the goodies were provided for any of our dogs. No AC dark dingy room. No place to take dogs for potty break unless you go down a flight of stairs or out the parking garage to a small strip of grass on the street that is full of other dogs messes and weeds. VERY POORLY MAINTAINED HOTEL.

  $$ Valet parking. Very difficult with a dog.

  Mandatory $$ valet parking, not disclosed at time of booking, with no other workable options. Loading/unloading requires getting everything down/up steps at entrance with no help from staff - no access to your vehicle while it's parked. Managing a dog and one of those giant luggage trolleys is a big challenge. I knew about the dog fee, but for that we got some dog biscuits and no exercise area - a pedestrian walkway with a snowbank to pee on. Lots of hallway noise - fortunately my dog is not a barker, or we would have been up all night and so would everyone else.

  This Is A Great Location For Dogs

  I always love what the double tree has to offer. This location gave us a tennis ball and potty bags for our pup. Plenty of space in our room and a balcony!!! If we come back to this location I will definitely stay here again!! Great customer service and VERY welcoming to dogs.
