Reviews
- AdrianaFeb. 13, 2022Reeked of cigarettes, potty areas scarce
Beware, they charge a pet fee, even if advertised as no pet fee. BringFido kindly offered a refund with a receipt and they couldn’t give me an itemized receipt because “they have no way to”, according to Robert. Broken tile all over the property. Potty area isn’t close to the rooms and it’s super small - no poop bags. The room was dirty, mold in the bathroom, sink was clogged, room reeked of cigarette even though it’s a “smoke free property”. They were not amenable about the pet fee, even if I showed him my reservation stated it. Continental breakfast consisted of brown bananas and some danishes (which were ok). Definitely would not stay here again. I picked La Quinta even though it was a bit more than other motel 6s thinking it’d be better but it was very disappointing and not worth the extra couple of bucks.
- ShirleySep. 20, 2021Very old, rusty, leaky, mold
Room had one lamp. Very dinghy. No table no chair. Looks like an attempt to renovate but just stopped in the middle of it. Half ass. Door looked liked it was kicked in. Laundry room was vandalized could do laundry. We expect more from La Quinta Inn.
- TeriSep. 12, 2021Bare bones (pun intended)
An ok place to stay if you just need some place to crash...really outdated. We were given a 1st floor rooms for the dogs... musty smelling. Green space for the dogs was minimal and trash cans overflowing. Overall, pretty clean but probably won't stay again. Will spend the few extra dollars for a better place. The one plus was the front desk staff...very nice and helpful.
- NicholleAug. 30, 2021Not the best
2 towels for 4 people couldn't get more. Very loud. Dog poop everywhere in the strip of grass that was for the dogs.
- AdamJul. 16, 2021No grass, not clean
Very little grass for dogs to relieve or relax in. And it was clear the toilet hadn’t been cleaned for a while. TV didn’t function right, and was pretty speedy for how janky it was!
- TimothyJul. 1, 2021Great Location but Terrible Hotel
The location is convenient and close to plenty of restaurants and the Garden of Gods. The hotel is dirty, rundown, and poorly staffed. The linens were dirty, there was trash all over the hotel, and it smelled like smoke. It was not good for humans or dogs alike.
- JeffreyJun. 14, 2021Great property
Good price and quality. Clean rooms great location too.
- ErnestMay. 16, 2021Awful
Would give zero bones if that was an option. Building is dilapidated & has many people loitering in the parking lot. The sink faucet was nearly off the sink. The TV did not work nor did the hair dryer. The floor was filthy, cannot imagine when it was last cleaned. Advertised breakfast & a pool neither of which were available. Very close to train tracks & there were many loud vehicles coming in & out of the property during the night. If you want a nice place to stay & get a good night's rest - you need to avoid this place.
- RoyMay. 9, 2021Not The Best Experience
Context: passing through for one night after 8+ hours of driving, have one pup with me.
To start, I was solicited by a trio of homeless individuals in the lot trying to bum cigarettes off of people entering the building. Dang near all the lights in the parking lot were flickering like a horror film. The surrounding area was not too well lit either. The exterior of the building looks very old and dilapidated. The room itself was mediocre, nothing noteworthy about it (good or bad). Pup relief area was littered with trash and poop; had to watch very carefully where the pup and I were stepping. The staff was completely emptying/renovating another room until about 9:30-10:00 pm, and they were not quiet about it. They also left all trash and components that were removed right in the central courtyard, so it wasn't exactly safe to walk the dog through the area. And the facility claims to be smoke-free, but I saw numerous individuals smoking everywhere but the designated smoking area in the parking lot.
Ideally, would never stay here again..
- AmandaApr. 25, 2021Overbooked
Hotel was overbooked and we only found out upon arrival. Had to reach out to customer service to request a refund, and they “mentioned” that I should call for same day availability instead of using the site.
- JackieApr. 15, 2021AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
Very dirty, smelled of old smoke, felt extremely unsafe! Walked my dog with a stun gun in hand, ready to use. Pretty sure drug deals were going down in the parking lot. This place should be removed from BringFido. I’ll never stay at a La Quinta again!!!
- ElizabethDec. 29, 2020Good location, great staff
The hotel itself is basic and a little dated. However it is right off the 25 and very clean. And the gentleman who checked me in was so kind and accommodating. I think he could tell we’d just been through a ring of hell driving in a blizzard! Good place for you and your pups.
- JeanneDec. 17, 2020A good stop.
Had no issues except ALL the dog poop from ignorant people. We told them at check out they should “check it out” as we couldn’t even walk there. Had to take the dogs across the street to an empty lot. They had our room ready early (we called ahead) and it’s a decent area. Right down the road from can’t miss Garden of the Gods. Some good weed places, too.
- EleanoraOct. 23, 2020Great location, clean rooms!
We took a trip to Colorado Springs for my mom's birthday. There were four adults and three dogs on the trip. We were bummed our rooms wouldn't have at least a mini fridge in it, but when we checked in, one of the guest services ladies upgraded both of our rooms after we got off the phone with them! We were kind of nervous about bed bugs due to past experiences, but both rooms were cleaned nicely and the beds were super comfy. Lots of fast food and stores around the area as well! Super glad we picked this La Quinta! 5/5 Bones 😂
- JudithSep. 14, 2020Dog friendly
The staff was friendly the rooms were clean. Lots of families with dogs staying there. Very limited grass area for airing your dog.
- SueSep. 13, 2020Wouldn’t stay again
Outdated, kind of dirty, Small rooms, lack of elevators. Outside entrances, outside stairs. Very noisy!
- TracySep. 11, 2020Dump!
Building and parking lot very scary! Many many homeless and drug addicts hanging out in parking lot. We worried all night that our cars would be broken into. I would never feel safe to stay here again!
- DustyAug. 19, 2020Great stay
I have seen other people complain about the grass spots but there was one on 3 of the 4 sides with the one closest to the gas station is the largest. The beds were soft and though I had an issue when discussed it with management they fixed it right away and took $40 off my bill.
- MicheleAug. 2, 2020Good Location and nice rooms
Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice size room. Nice staff. Worked great with the dog.
Right next to tons of Fast food and restaurants. Great Italian place across the street.
Garden of the Gods park is about 7 minutes. Very convenient. Hotel is right off the highway. Easy access.
Would definitely stay again. - ElizabethJul. 31, 2020Terrible
We ended up not even staying here. As soon as we entered the room of the "smoke free" facility, we were hit with a horrible cigarette odor. The rooms are outdated. The comforter of the bed was visibly stained. The location appeared unsafe. There were broken down vehicles in the parking lot. Overall, we are very disappointed. This hotel is NOT worth the price. We ended up paying only $200 more for a much nicer, much larger hotel 10 minutes away with beautiful views of the mountains.
- AllieJul. 17, 2020Central location but not in the best Shape
Booking and check in were fabulous! You can bring your dogs always awesome. Overall cleanliness wasn’t the best though. Also room walls are paper thin and you can everything In the room next door. Overall for the price the room wasn’t too bad. Cant expect much when you pay bottom dollar.
- TylerJun. 22, 2020DONT do it
honestly one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. The room key failed about 5 times, and I had to go back and back to the lobby to get new ones. Room was small and dainty, and the area was sketch. Area for dog was a strip of lawn next to the street, and nobody cleaned up their pets business. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
- DamonJun. 17, 2020Great location
The motel is located close to restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations and scenic attractions. The parking lot appears quite narrow and requires finess in even maneuvering a midsize SUV. At the time of our visit, residents were very loud and disruptive and vehicles were double-parked where parking was already limited. The price was appropriate for the close location to the middle of town just off the freeway. Grassy areas for the dogs was limited to two sides of the parking lot and mostly littered with trash and doggie waste although bags were readily available in both designated areas. Overall, the interior was clean and comfortable.
- CelesteJan. 15, 2020Competitive rates, great service
Perfect for both my Dane and my Shar pei. Friendly staff, spacious room, and convenient grass areas for doggy bathroom breaks. They even provide bags to pick up with afterwards!
- PatriciaJan. 12, 2020Mabel’s visit
Was very good but would be easier when traveling with a dog if they would give you a first floor room.
- Pamela and robertDec. 22, 2019Review
Dawn was a great lady and very helpful. Our room smelled like a 2 week multi cat uncleaned litter box and when we signed in they charged us $75 deposit for each room which still has not been refunded. No frig and no microwave. Ms. Dawn and the view of the beautiful mountains was the only thing nice about the place and it was close to the hospital.
- AnneNov. 6, 2019Older hotel, but clean
Staff here are very friendly and welcoming - the morning we checked out from our first stay, the desk staff were happily greeting a lovely Great Dane. We stayed here twice; liked our first room a little better than the second, but both were clean and quiet. There are grassy areas for dog walking with bags/waste disposal stations, which was great (shame on the guests who neglected to clean up after their dogs, though!).
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the design. It's an older hotel, with rooms mainly with exterior access, which is nice, but the whole place has lots of stairs. One of my dogs is going blind, so the exterior stairs were a problem for her, since they've got gaps between the steps. Interior stairs with carpet were no problem. So, keep that in mind if you or your dog have mobility issues - there are elevators, but you should definitely ask for a ground level room.
- SeleneOct. 25, 2019Cute and quaint
We were given treats for our dogs and the room was small but more than comfortable for a night’s stay.
- TamaraOct. 17, 2019Will return especially if for surgery
- ShelbySep. 18, 2019Decent hotel for the price
We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The dog area wasnt very big and pretty close to the highway which made my dog very nervous to do his business. The rooms were average. There were a couple people seemingly living in their car in the parking lot. But nothing to make a person feel nervous, especially with the pup in tow.
- KaylonFeb. 10, 2019Good experience
We stayed in a suite for a really fair price and enjoyed our stay. There was side walks and a big grassy area to take our dogs, which was a must. Overall good experience.
- Possum’s MaMore than a year agoClean and Pet Friendly
Clean, nice staff, needs new mattress, but clean.
- AnissaMore than a year agoMusty and Grimy
The parking lot and walkways are very dirty. Lots of cigarette butts and trash when walking to the room. The condition extends to the rooms as well. Stains on the carpet, bedspreads and sheets. The tub looks as though it has not been scrubbed. My dog keeps finding trash under the bed so I have leashed him in the room to prevent him from bringing anything else out. Overall, the room is musty and grimy.
All the doors open to the outside which is not ideal but my daughter and I have had to walk past a group of men who congregated in the courtyard and have been drinking beer there for the past four hours. The hotel is not clean and does not feel safe.
- AlainaMore than a year agoColorado Hiking Trip
Decent for the price and close to great hiking opportunities with your fido.
