Known for its clean- quiet comfort and gracious style- each of our 240 oversized guestrooms and suites feature a comfortable sitting area. Many have pull-out sofas- a European marble bath with full length terry cloth robe- hair dryer- personalized voice mail- work-size desk- in-room safe- iron and ironing board and refreshment center. High speed wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel surcharge. The Melrose Georgetown Hotel. is conveniently located between the White House and Georgetown on Pennsylvania Avenue. A brief taxi ride from both Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport- the hotel is also easily accessible by Metro- or a short stroll from the Foggy Bottom station to our front door. Guests can conveniently travel between the Districts historical and cultural attractions as well as key business locations by taxicab- Metro- or even on foot.

We booked this place last minute through the bringfido app. We chose this place because it appeared to be on the nicer side, but at a slightly lower price. Turns out you just end up paying a BUNCH of hidden/extra fees. The room was spacious, but the AC only blew out very hot air and the room was like a sauna. Luckily the windows opened but it was quite loud outside with the noises of the city and difficult to sleep.
We were told upon check-in that breakfast was complimentary and when I went to order the breakfast to bring up to the room, I was handed a bill for $79 (with a 20% service fee added on even though it was a to-go order) and was then told that it was not actually complimentary due to us booking through a third party, and that the previous front desk person must have told me that in error. We also woke up to a “historic preservation fee.” When I asked where I should park, they insisted that I valet my car but left out the cost. All in all, we should have just paid the extra $100 for a better place and we probably would have still ended up spending less than we did on all the hidden fees and charges.
