The Plantation Resort on Crystal River Ascend Hotel Collection, located on Florida's Nature Coast, features 232 acres of lush landscape panoramic bay-front lawns and rolling greens adorned by centuries old majestic live oaks and graceful emerald pines. Set on the Crystal River, the hotel with 196 well-appointed rooms scenically overlooks Kings Bay and our 27-hole golf course. Amenities at the resort are numerous including fine dining in the full-service Savannah Room, casual dining at our poolside Tiki bar and 19th hole Pro Shop snack bar, a 96 000-gallon heated swimming pool with Jacuzzi and sundeck. A fitness center and full service Aveda Spa are located on property. In addition to our 27 holes of golf and lighted tennis courts, we have a full service marina and dive shop which is among the only place in the world where you can swim with the manatees. Scuba and Snorkel lessons along with boat rentals are also available. Meeting rooms totaling over 13 000 square feet. Our stay at this old charming hotel by the Crystal River with our two chihuahuas was absolutely delightful! The picturesque views of the river and quaint architecture of the building made it a unique and memorable experience. The attentive staff and comfortable accommodations only added to the charm of the place. Highly recommend!

Pet friendly room has no carpet which I prefer. Resort is only two stories so it was easy staying on the 2nd floor to use the stairs to take my dog out for potty breaks. Lots of grassy areas to walk. Everyone was super friendly and the pool patio area and tiki hut is large enough to bring your furry friends. Susie B's charters was also per friendly. There wasn’t any designated dog walk areas or poop bag stations but over all a great stay with family and pets.

Room was a little outdated and dirty, found a dead roach in it (disgusting)-overall convenient for boat trips- pretty nice place- not amazing but still okay.

Hotel is older but beautiful. Our experience was not pleasant. We waiting in line to check in for 40 mins as everyone was upset their accommodations were not right. We waiting 5 hours. 2 hours after guaranteed check in time. It was 98 degrees and hot outside. we ate an early dinner poolside while waiting for 5 of us - hotdogs, a hamburger and a salad with drinks cost over $100. We made it to our room and it was not the Waterfront we had booked and paid for - it was not the suite with a kitchenette. It was the only room they could give us and the AC didn't work, the bathroom was dirty. I would give it a 1.5 star. It's beautiful there and no problems with the pets, but we only stayed that one night and left for better accommodations.

This hotel is right on Crystal River. It's a beautiful old Inn. It allows pets, and that is always a selling point for me.
