Great location for local events, but the area isn't really dog friendly. The hotel is great, free breakfast and dog friendly, great view of ocean from the balcony. Closest dog beach is 30 minute drive north or south.

Staff incredibly unfriendly. Never got towels we requested, multiple times. Had to use beach towels, which we had to beg for. Room was never serviced. Only a small area of grass I assumed was the “dog friendly” area, until I saw the sign “No Dogs Allowed.” We used it anyway as there was no other option. TV was not working, went to call front desk to report, but phone also wasn’t working. TV was fixed pretty quickly, but phone never got fixed. No access to beach from hotel (this was due to hurricanes in 2022 so not really La Quinta's fault I guess) but was the cherry on top of an awful stay. Spend more on a nicer place if you can afford it.

It is not La Quinta's fault that the location doesn't allow for much of a "dog relief" area. You'll have to leash and walk your dog. This location is good for a quick night's sleep but IS oceanfront. I didn't have much contact with staff. Thank you!

I was traveling back to North Georgia from a funeral in Orlando with my husband, who suffered a severe brain injury in August, and decided to spend the night at the beach before returning. I booked a room on-line and indicated that we would be staying with two active service dog, a 13 year-old retired service dog, and a 10lb lap dog. After driving nearly 2 hours out of the way, we arrived after 9pm and when I went to check in, the desk clerk told me that only 3 "pets" were allowed in the room and he was cancelling my reservation. I tried to explained to him that service dogs are not legally considered "pets" under the ADA. He was quite rude, refusing to spell his name for me or give me any paperwork indicating why he was canceling my reservation. I called Wyndham and was told the hotel could do what they wanted as far as refusing "pets." I then called BringFido and the my canine concierge immediately called the hotel and made them reinstate my reservation. When I went back in to the office, the clerk continued to be rude, not even offering an apology.

Paid for a room w/ a view of the pool and ocean so I could watch the kids. Pool was closed first two days, had to beg for towels and toilet paper, staff is UNFRIENDLY and location is NOT managed. The website falsely advertises having a continental breakfast, following Covid-19 guidelines, and being pet friendly. There isn’t ONE patch of grass where your pet can use the restroom. Never once was our room cleaned, restocked, nothing. Front desk is not manned, so if you wanna check in I’d suggest walking around the property because you’ll likely find a member of the staff stalking around the halls on their cell phones but you’ll have to wait for them to finish their personal call. When the pool did open, it was nasty and polluted w/ glass along w/ the pool deck so you’ll have to walk around the glass or wear shoes... at all times. Don’t take the top thin cover off the bed because the actual comforter has holes where the stuffing comes out. They do not deserve your hard earned money.

I wouldn’t exactly call it dog friendly. It’s more like dog tolerant. There is a fee attached to the room, and the pet relief area is very, very small, approximately half the size of one of their smallest rooms. Also, the main beaches of Daytona and Ormond are not dog friendly. They are not allowed on the beach at all. If you get caught on the beach with your dog, they will fine you $50 without a warning.

I’d like to start off by saying that I am 100% that person that reads reviews before staying anywhere. With that being said I also understand everyone will have a different experience. I stayed in the deluxe king room with the ocean front view and I honestly can’t complain. Yes it’s a little more, but it’s worth it. There’s a nice grassy area that’s right outside my room that makes it easy to take my dog in and out. Now, you have to remember you get what you pay for, so don’t expect everything to be perfect. My remote worked, TV, fridge, and microwave. Ladies at the front desk were polite and friendly to my dog. No they didn’t have treats, but I don’t expect a place to have treats for my dog. I bring my own. That’s a cherry on top if they do, but I’m not gonna knock a hotel if they don’t. The rooms need a little more tlc and the AC was a bit noisy. The room is a good size and everything was in order. I’m staying for a night and it’s perfectly fine. I gave it 4 stars because it definitely needs an all around thorough clean and it’s not perfect, but it most certainly is not the worst by any means! It’s right on the beach! I say (and this is coming from a picky person) if you’re on the fence about this place just book it. That’s what I did and I’m giving it a 4. It would be a 3.5 but I rounded up. If you’re not going to be in your room much and out and about with your pup this is a good spot. At the end of the day you never know until you book! I hope my review helps!

I travelling with 2 teenager and our dog, a boxer. Really nice place to stay. We stay 2 nights in a suite at the 1st floor. the room is without carpet, and very clean, view on the ocean with access and nice place to sit outside with our boxer. Really Nice pet Friendly place and also for family or people wants quiet place.

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever been in especially for the price. Refrigerator didn’t work but they did replace it. No hair dryer but they brought one. But the big thing was filth. The tile floors were so dirty I actually call to have them mopped. The cam and wiped with a wet swifter type cleaner. Even after that I would not walk without shoes. Do t stay here. Not like pictures.

Short version: it sufficiently accommodated a 5hr nap during a long road trip. Despite concerns about the outward appearance and location, our room was clean, the desk staff was nice, and we we're able to sleep. Our pup was comfy with us.
Caveats: (1) The hotel is definitely on the oceanfront; it's a bit of a hike from the exit off 95 and the route the GPS takes you is a little off the beaten path. (2) The area is sketchy. Suspicious characters, etc. When we were leaving in the morning, we overheard the staff talking about someone who just hopped their fence and ran away across the street. We saw the guy running and another yelling at him from across the street - a little unnerving so we got out of there quickly.
Bottom line: we wouldn't go back but we were grateful for the decent rest in a clean room.

Clean hotel, dogs aren’t allowed on the beach in Daytona Beach, so our pup was bummed out. To those complaining about nowhere to walk your dog. Simply walk down the street (leave the hotel parking lot.) there’s plenty of grass and nice wide sidewalks. Clean rooms, all tile floors. Dogs are only allowed on the patios if you’re not on the ground floor. Beautiful sunrise views right from our room!
