Would not stay there again. The rooms were expensive, warped floors, tiny tv with horrible reception, poorly working A/C unit, only one electrical outlet, tiny bathroom, and no dog area. Not worth the money.

Great location to tour Mount Dora with your fur babies. Mount Dora is very pet friendly and so is the hotel.

The hotel itself had the ambience of a beautiful grand place but I felt that the room we were assigned was where all the outcasts go...no ambience at all. I guess because of our little dog.
It smelled really musty and it was damp as if no one had entered the room in a long time. It had old towels stuffed under a door too... I knew the smell was because of the hotels age but seeing that the hotel was not busy at all....it was not worth the price. I was really disappointed because it is such a beautiful property.

This was our 2nd time there. They have made many improvements since the 1st time. One of the improvements is the reconstruction of their great front porch. They did not tell me this on the phone when I spoke with their front desk. We were extremely disappointed that we could not use the porch, especially since we have a pet. Part of our last experience was sitting on the porch. We understand Lakeside's reason for not telling us, but it is a major part of the inn experience. They should have told us. We still enjoyed the visit.

Lakeside Inn merits 5 bones on the dog friendly aspect of our trip. We encountered dozens of dogs there of all sizes and didn't have a problem, nor were we kept up at night by any barking or howling. Our pup was allowed to sit with us on the veranda while we had breakfast and there was a park only a block away. Our room was in a separate cottage and was bright and cozy. However, the Inn is a historic building and the walls have no soundproofing to the adjacent rooms. No coffee pot, microwave or fridge was provided making it difficult if you needed to dine in your room. That said, almost every restaurant in walking distance welcomed our pup so that this was not a problem. The Inn is a little different in that a first night deposit was required and there is a pet fee. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Safe Stay: Lakeside Inn has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay and sealed after cleaning. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Contactless check-in and check-out are available. Hotel staff are required to wear masks.
