  Clean and beachy

  Quiet, clean, spacious, and cozy. Cute little private beach for the dogs to run around on. Ground floor with room doors opening out to parking which is a must for my dog who is afraid of elevators.

  Do not recommend

  This hotel was not very clean, lamps did not work properly, microwave did not work at all and the overall cleanliness can be summed up in one word: atrocious. The floors felt so dirty (slick film and somewhat sticky) that we wore our socks in the room. We ended up leaving at 6am rather than staying until checkout.

  Everything was great

  We had a perfect corner room in the back, by the pool & beach access. The room was comfortable and cheery. I had problems with the TV initially, but someone was sent over right away (even though it was 9 pm) to straighten things out. Great breakfast, with lots of variety - something for everyone. I enjoyed it so much I stayed 2 extra nights.

  Fun hotel

  The pool area was nice and relaxing. Close to beach and many restaurants. You had to drive to the dog beach.

  Great for large dogs

  Our Alaskan Malamute and my husband and I had the best time here! Surf & Sand is in the perfect location with pet friendly restaurants and dog parks (which are beaches!). Not to mention the private beach in the back which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was so very friendly and took such good care of us! will definitely go back if we’re ever in Pensacola Beach again!

  Dogs’ First Vacation Ever

  This hotel went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect! Rooms were easy to access for late night potty breaks, great location to activities, and clean.

  Awesome Location

  The staff was very welcoming and friendly, the lobby area was inviting and comfortable. Our room was clean, bright and the decor was pretty cool. We loved the surf motif throughout. It was a little cool but the pool and fire pit area overlooking the bay looked well maintained. The only negatives were the noisy air conditioner in the room, and without any carpet in the room and bathroom, the floor gets a little slippery when taking a shower, and there is only one grab bar in the shower which makes it a little tenuous. Any sound also echoes pretty well. We had our dog Gus with us and he shares our thoughts on the stay. We enjoyed our stay however and will be back. There are bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards for guest use and the beauty of the area speaks for itself.

  Mold and dirty but very pet friendly

  The staff was nice and the beach was nice but the room had mold, the bed had sand in it, and the floors left your feet very dirty. I asked about a different room and they said they were all like that but that they were remodeling and it won’t stay that way.

  Black mold. Overpriced. Run down

  how is this listed on this app?! place has black mold. charges $250 for a night for a one dog room. run down. don’t know why there’s five bone reviews on here

  Filthy ... but (mostly) friendly

  The person who checked us in was unfriendly and wasn't even aware that the hotel offered a dog beach area to all guests. Once to our hotel room, we found that the floors were filthy. When I took off my shoes, they were black within 5 minutes. There was no welcome mat to collect the sand so it just traveled everywhere in the room. The picture on the wall had a cracked frame and there was no microwave in the room (as advertised). There was also no bath mat provided. We also received an additional $60 charge from them AFTER our stay and have no idea what that was for. Some of the staff was super friendly (Brenda was awesome and most of the day staff was nice) and the dog beach was pretty cool, but the overall experience left us underwhelmed.

  The staff was great, the room was okay for a nights stay. Enjoyed taking the kids and dogs to the private beach in the morning.

  Great Location, Friendly Staff

  It’s a very average beach motel, could have been cleaner but I’d go back again because they were so kind to me and my Ellie girl. The pool and beach are small but great. My sweet Ellie was on her farewell tour. She had cancer and. I was having to pulling her around in a wagon, she was an 80 pound black lab. Everyone at the hotel and in the area were so kind to her. She unfortunately took a turn while we were staying at the hotel and we needed to leave abruptly. We were refunded, no questions ask. The staff are truly dog people and I’d recommend bringing your furry pal here anytime.

  Review

  Disappointed. Key app didn’t work and our room was close to elevator so could hear loud voices there and from upstairs. Very poor water pressure in shower. TV was not plugged into back of TV. Just st didn’t feel comfortable using pool or private beach. Maybe ok for dogs but not people.

  Great staff, yummy breakfast

  Breakfast was great! The dog beach was really fun for our Kiwi girl and our second room was great! The first room was ok, needed to be remodeled. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

  I gave it 5 stars because of their friendliness.
  I also enjoyed the private beach area they offered for me and my dog.
  It wasn’t the cleanest hotel......but it was decent.
  5 stars because we felt very welcomed there.
