        Claims pet friendly - Isn't

I paid the pet fee no questions asked to have my dog accompany us. Housekeeper acted TERRIFIED every time she saw my (controlled) dog. Understandable I kept my dog as far away from her as possible. I removed my dog from the room and asked her to clean it once out of the 3 night stay. The dog left the premises with me to the beach and my son stayed behind in the room to work on some summer school projects. Housekeeper told my underage son "That dog better not be here" with attitude. I'm sorry, I thought this was a dog friendly hotel. When I brought it up to the manager I was met with a list of policies I was never told upon checking in about the dog being crated or removed when housekeeping occurs. Every time they ignored me when I explained the dog was entirely removed and the housekeeper was never subjected to the apparent horror of being around my pet I paid extra for. Instead she made my child uncomfortable with her comments. Will never stay here again. If you're a pet friendly hotel with a giant bring fido sticker on the window boasting about it, hire pet friendly staff and make your pet policies known. Also, listen when someone complains.

The value was good in that we had a two bedroom suite with kitchenette for a reasonable price but that's almost the only good thing. The suite smelled terrible -- like filthy dogs -- and wasn't clean. The furniture was dirty and smelly, the stove in the kitchenette had grease burned into the top and the carpet stank. I'm glad someone else who stayed here had new carpet -- ours was so old that it was shredded. The suite door had claw and bite marks on the door facing. The inside of the bathroom door had the veneer pulled off. When we went to breakfast, they were out of almost everything since they had a convention staying there. We won't be staying there again.

        Don't waste your time

We were hopeful with Quality Inn; the reservation desk staff really made it soumd lile an excellent deal. The lobby was dated, drab and small. There was numerous items in the office that was visible to guests, which looked as though they just moved in. I was worried but opted for cautious optimism. The outside door looked ominous. When we opened the door, we frightened away the roaches. The kitchenette was a joke! It was dirty, dark and looked as though it was hardly suitable for anything much less food. The rest the room resembled the same tone - dark, stuffy, dirty and dated. The bathroom even included a charming little cigarette stain on the floor. And, the bedroom? Big surprise - another roach! The only good thing about the place is the quick (we hope) refund. Funny how the reservation gave me a hard time about our dog going slightly over the weigh limit - I would never even let my dog stay in this pit! If you don't a few roaches joining your party amd filthy digs, go for it. In my opinion, this place is not fit for man or mutt!!

        Dirty rooms!

This is not a hotel that I would tell anyone to stay at! The room was dirty (dog kept finding trash in corners!), mold in the bathroom, smelled terrible. The only redeeming quality was the proximity to the beach, which was dog friendly. Jekyll Island was a nice place to visit, but would never stay at the Quality Inn again!

        Great location for Dogs

Heard lots about Jekyll Island &we were not disappointed. Very dog friendly beach, people stopped an talked, dogs played on beach. Will definitely come back. Room was a little dated, but very clean, so suited us well with a dog. Some construction across street, so work begins early...but we were up & to the beach!

makd a nightmare vacation a dream vacation

this may be a run on commont but..we booked ourselves at a hotel on Tybee Island that was pet friendly but after that the rest of the Island is a no pet zone location we went to the beach and we were within seconds accosted by dog hating tourists, one woman actually kicked our dog calling him a foul shit machine. I’m mild mannered by nature but she found my 32 oz. tea in her face at that moment we ended up going back to the hotel and googled a alternative and found Jekyll Island and the staff at Quality inn help us book at the Jekyll Island hotel we drove the hour and a haft with broken spirits but once there and with the first question asked “can our dog go to the beach” it was amazing and wonderful and hands down the most wonderful holiday spent in years and leaving was the hardest part. great hotel great staff great Island it was just wonderful and not that it needs to be said but pet people are the best people everyone we met was just so wonderful and honestly I have the feeling we made a few lifelong friends that week.

        perfect for large dogs

I have a German Shepard and this hotel was good for the money. It is a little older but very safe and clean. This is a great island and this hotel is in a good location close to everything. Would stay again!

        Good Times!

We left Jekyll Island less than a week ago – had a great time, and a great stay at the Quality Inn. Hotel is a little older; however, our room (1 bedroom suite) was spacious and clean. Carpeting was new and all the kitchen appliances clean – there was always an abundance of housekeeping staff available to assist us with extra towels & laundry bags – whatever we needed, staff was very friendly! Our room was right across from the dog-walk area, which was very convenient and the hotel even provided the necessary “bags” for that area if needed!! Only word of caution about the dog walk area is that if you go out at night – beware of the deer! There were several of them and they did not scare easily despite being barked at, woo-woo’d at, or otherwise! Would advise taking a flashlight with you if your fur-baby needs a late night potty break!

The Quality Inn and Suites at Jekyll Island is a great place to stay. It is not a new hotel but our suite was roomy ,clean and just a short walk to the beach, Very pet friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
