    Broken Elevator

During our five-day stay at the hotel, the elevator was out of service for four days, and as we were staying on the fourth floor with our 80-pound dog. You can imagine the inconvenience we faced. When I inquired with the hotel, the response I received was that they did not know when it would be back in service. This has left our vacation exhausting and unpleasant.

    Great hotel

I thought for the first time having my dog with me it was awesome. She loved the fluffy pillows. We normally travel in my camper full time so she loved this place. They gave her a treat too.

    Family Oasis

Besides being very pet friendly, this place has it all. Indoor pool, pool tables, ping pong tables - very fun for traveling with families. Loved that they connected to an Old Chicago restaurant with great food!!! Very clean with many outside places for your dog. Also has in-room refrigerator and microwave.

    Meh

Room was ok. Did not care that we booked through this app. Service was disturbed as soon as we walked in. The purpose of sleeping was ok. Paid an intensive price for not much.

Had to take our pup and leave

This was the first time we've stayed in a hotel with our 9 month old puppy. We thought we had done everything we could to prepare her. We brought her crate, her toys, her bed, and lots of treats. What we couldn't control for was the hour and a half of kids running up and down our hall yelling and screaming starting around 9:30pm. She had been doing really well up till that point, but she was getting so stressed out by the loud noises it was getting harder and harder to get her to settle and she started barking at every little noise. At 11pm the management called and said people were complaining and we needed to get her quiet. Meanwhile, it sounded like a party two rooms down and there were still lots of people in the hall and doors slamming. Our puppy was so stressed out and panting at this point, we just packed up and left and drove the two and half hours home.

Not entirely the hotel's fault since it wasn't their job to control the kids, but maybe they could put guests with dogs in a quieter part of the hotel. Or be more understanding about dogs barking when there is pandemonium in the hallways. But, by that point our puppy was so freaked out we just wanted to get her out of there before she forever formed a negative association.

Aside, from that, it seemed like a nice hotel.

    Comfortable stay with our Brittany

On a meandering road trip with our dog, we spent a night at the Best Western Plus on the west side of Dubuque, and would most definitely stay with them again. There is a large manicured lawn area in the "alcove" created by 3 wings of the hotel, which gave us plenty of room for our dog's walks and potty breaks. The rooms are nicely furnished and very comfortable. The $25 advertised dog fee was a bit steep, we thought, but they actually charged us only $20. We highly recommend this hotel.

    Dog friendly!

This hotel is definitely dog friendly. I was told it’d be an extra $25/day, but was only charged $20!
