  Great place with great service!

  Very nice place with confortable bed near all the cute places in Iowa City.

  The only thing : you have to walk a block away to find grass for your dog to do he’s things.

  However, the staff is very nice. We had to park in a oversized parking recommended by the hotel (because our car was too big to fit in the parking next to the hotel) and we got towed. The manager came by to bring us find our car and paid the towing bill for us. Overall, super night there!

  Great hotel but not great dog accommodations

  The Graduate is a very nice hotel. Full of character and right in the middle of town adjacent to the university, with cool shops and restaurants within walking distance. However, while they welcome dogs, it’s not the most convenient place to stay with a dog. Parking is offsite in a parking garage (and it cost $14 to self park, no valet), there is no designated potty area-we found a little dirt planter by the street and had to walk a block to find grass. And we were on the 6th floor so not quick and easy to take a dog out. I expected more with a $25 pet fee. All that said, it is a very nice hotel and the beds are extremely comfortable. I’d stay there again, just not sure I would stay with dogs again.

  Very friendly with our pup!

  The hotel staff and other guests were very friendly with our pup, which made our first hotel travel experience with him great. The dog relief area was small, but they do provide dog bags and there are a lot of green spaces nearby. We will stay again.

  Really nice hotel

  We had a great stay at Graduate Hotel. Really comfortable room with plenty of space. Big bathroom. Really nice area right in the middle of the university. Very small grass area for the dog, but we just kept walking till we found more grassy areas. . Didn’t have to go far. Will definitely stay here again.

  Great Location, Nicely renovated

  We enjoyed our stay at the Graduate in Iowa City. The dog was made to feel welcome there, although there was a $25 additional fee for the dog. The hotel has been renovated since our last stay, when the property was a Sheraton Hotel. The location is great. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the campus is a great place to walk your dog.

  We had a great experience at the Graduate. We didn’t get a bark box as some other reviews mentioned but it was clean, comfortable, and welcoming.

  A very decent hotel

  Centrally located, this hotel is comfortable, characterful and very nicely fitted out. And very good value. They take dogs, for no fee, but their pet policy is one of the more restrictive ones (basically only allowed in the room, and then not on his own) and there was no sign of the enthusiastic welcome or any extras mentioned in earlier reviews.

  Consistently good - highly recommended

  I have stayed here twice this year with my dog. We've always received a warm welcome and nicely appointed, clean room. Hotel is in a good location with plenty of local areas to walk and find coffee / restaurants. All staff have been exceptionally pleasant and helpful, Although not always available, the Bark Box welcome gift was a big hit with my pup.

  Fantastic Place

  The overall experience was cohesive and fun. Loved the collegiate vibe! Super creative interiors were soothing and nostalgic. Bed was comfortable and the staff was fantastic. I arrived at 10:30 on my second visit and the valet was sent home. I was concerned about valuables in my car. Manager assured me it would be safe. It was parked in front of the valet stand all night! Plus they didn’t charge valet rate as they technically didn’t park car.

  My doggo loves nice hotels and this place didn’t disappoint. Had an amazing meal in the lobby restaurant and good coffee at Poindexters.

  I am traveling cross country again this fall and I will definitely plan on a few nights at Graduate. Truly 5 star.

  Nice Place To Stay

  We liked staying at this hotel for its convenient location and found the staff very friendly as well as the rooms very clean. The beds were so comfortable! We didn’t know that if we brought a carrier, our dog could’ve stayed in our room but we felt that we wouldn’t have wanted that anyway. There were minimal hallway noises and we noticed another room used the provided blue tooth speaker on their door knob as a sound barrier....genius!!!! We did not receive a dog bed, bowl, treat and chew toy like we thought but we felt it wasn’t a big deal as we had come prepared for our dog’s comfort so didn’t ask about it. We will definitely stay here again!!

  Amazing Hotel!

  We stopped in Iowa City on our way from New York to Arizona. The hotel is absolutely adorable! It’s decorated with hints of Iowa. Everyone was so welcoming to us and our travel buddy, Indy a 1.5 year old shepherd mix. Barb even gave her a Bark Box full of toys and treats. We couldn’t get the tags off fast enough! They definitely went above and beyond our expectations. We will be back!
