  Room was great…..pet fee way to high for a 10 lb shih tzu, have been traveling for two weeks and the most we paid was $20 and most of the time they waved it when they saw her.

  Love the Fenced Dog Area

  This hotel was perfect for us and our dogs. It was right off the interstate so easy to find and there were plenty of food options close to the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice, but the best part was the fenced in dog area. After being in the car all day the dogs were able to run free.

  Easy access to the interstate highway. Very clean, comfortable room on third floor which was designated the "pet" floor. A couple of eateries were within strolling distance. Definitely would stay there again with our two large dogs.

  Despite being on 3rd floor where it was harder to bring my senior pup outside, I carried him up and down the stairs to avoid using the elevator. The room was large and clean.

  I realize that when you rent a pet room there might be traces of pets that have stayed. The hotel curtains had obviously been urinated on and not cleaned (what do they use the pet fee for?). Beds were comfortable and there are sidewalks close by for walking your pet.

  The location was close to the interstate, restaurants and a gas station. The room (double Queen) was spacious, and updated, beds were comfy. There is a mini fenced in area for the dogs to go potty, and plenty of grassy areas to walk them around the hotel. The hotel also had a fairly extensive breakfast available for guests just off the lobby. The only negatives, for me, are that the pet fee is pretty steep ($35/pet) and that the rooms where they allow pets are all on the 3rd floor. Other than that, the accommodations were great.

  Wonderful dog friendly setup

  The room had laminate flooring. I could tell any previous doggie accidents were thoroughly cleaned. The dog park was convenient with available poop bags and trash can. The staff all seemed to be dog lovers themselves.

  I stayed at this hotel with my dog recently and wished I would have booked at the nearby Drury Inn which I have stayed at before. As others have said, the hotel staff are extremely friendly and welcoming but other than that, I disagree about the quality of the hotel. The furnishings in the room were worn and the couch had a large tear in the seam, etc. Very bare bones. The fenced dog area is small but nice - about 20 yards from the front entrance of the hotel. Most of the other areas with trees are covered with white rocks instead of grass so you do have to head to the edges of the property to relieve your dog. And those areas are DARK.

  There were several dozen semi trucks parked nearby and lots of single men in the hotel - several of which were standing outside in the parking lot drinking from the back of a pick up truck. When I got in the elevator to go upstairs after an evening pee break, and extremely intoxicated man got in the elevator with me and unfortunately was headed to the same floor as me. As a female traveler on my own I did not really feel very safe in this hotel. I would not have gone back outside later in the evening should my dog have needed to go again. Pay the little extra money for the Drury Inn - it's brighter, safer, and has both evening and morning free meals.

  Don’t like that they put people with dogs on the 3rd floor. Usually we are on the 1st floor. Could barely get on the bed it was so tall. I’m 5’2” the bed was past my hip.

  Last minute booking we were impressed with how many people also had their dogs at this hotel. Lots of grassy areas and a fenced area for the fur babies that need a little exercise off the leash.

  My two labs and I arrived very late in our drive from FL to WI. Nice receptionist at the desk. Easy check in. Very clean, modern room. Large grassy area and waste station for dogs. Kudos to Comfort suites in Mt Vernon for making us feel like everyone else. No side eye for having dogs. I’ve recommended them to all my friends who make that trip.

  Loved the hotel, very dog friendly. It had a dog park fenced in area. The bed and linens were very comfortable and room was very clean. Good breakfast with plenty of selections. Hotel is in walking distance to Mexican or barbecue restaurants where you could eat outside. Would stay there again.

  Some good, some not

  There were some good and bad things about this hotel. If you're pulling a trailer of any sort you have to park in the gravel lot which means if you've got bags or anything to bring in you're taking many trips through the gravel and not able to use the suitcase dolly. The people at the front desk though and buffet were really nice. Food was great, and loved that they had a fenced in dog area. Our room was a little dated and had some cosmetic flaws like a rip in the sofa. For us it was a great final stop on our way back home. I just wish there was a path or way to help people get their luggage if you have a trailer.

  Very clean and comfortable. Location was great with convenient restaurants. They have a small fenced pet area, but for my 3 shepherds I was able to find a field a few blocks away to throw the ball.

  The best we stayed during our 8 day trip. We had 2 queen bed suite. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. A small fenced area but also lots of green space. Very receptive and friendly staff. Lobby had delicious, cold lemon water. Rooms quiet. $35/pet seems a little high but if keeps the quality and cleanliness of hotel it's worth it. Our room was close to the lobby which was ingress and egress to take our dogs out but no-one seemed to mind. First floor is pet floor. Pool open 24 hours--with adults only after 1100 pm!!

  Great Stopover

  I think this place replaced an old Comfort Inn I stayed in a few years ago (it needed replacing). Regardless, this place is great: clean, convenient to the freeway, multiple restaurants, and to town. As always, some folks don’t control their dogs and there was a good bit of barking but I never heard anything in my room. The pet area is small but fenced in and clean and grassy. Breakfast was about as good as you could expect.

  Did The Trick, But...

  Me and my pup were just doing a quick one night stay on our way to Omaha. The person at the check in desk made me feel like they really didn’t like having dogs stay in their hotel. Very short and to the point, especially about the dog fee and the $250 extra cleaning fee if necessary. They also put us on the top floor whereas the other hotel put us the ground floor. The room was nice which is why I gave it two stars. If I pass this way again, I’ll be staying somewhere else.

  Loved the hotel, very dog friendly. It had a dog park fenced in area. The bed and linens were very comfortable and room was very clean. Even with the virus they had a great breakfast with many choices and a very friendly server. Hotel Also in walking distance to Mexican or barbecue restaurants where you could eat outside.   Comfortable Rooms And Pet Friendly!

  I ranged the Comfort Suites from the highway as we approach Mt Vernon and needed a place for the night. The rates were affordable and cost for pet is $25 one time change per day for my two dogs (flat rate for all pets per night).

  The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious for my dogs and we were able to move about without bumping into each other. Highly recommend if you are traveling off highway 57.

  Staff were all pet friendly. Had a decent fenced in pet inclosure. Rooms clean, well kept, with room to play, and even though we were on the 3rd floor it wasn’t too far to get to the green space.

  I was so impressed with this hotel and their staff. They loved on my dogs and they even have a fenced in area right outside where you go let your dog run a little bit. They were so nice, so accommodating and so pet friendly.
