This hotel doesn’t really have much green space and the ones had either had trash or where near major highway. My puppy likes to walk in the morning so I was kinda lucky there is a road that runs behind the hotel to walk him back and forth on. The other thing is the entrance door close to our room didn’t lock. The room also had a musky smell.

General location felt a bit sketchy. Staff was polite if uninterested. Room was great, beds were clean and comfy. Shower pressure was fine, shower head was decent unless you're tall. Pool was drained and elevator was broken. So our 4th floor room with a pet was more of a pain then planned. No idea about their breakfast, left without checking it out.

Nice place, a bit awkward check-in, but the room was quiet and clean. Disappointed in the morning when I was politely asked to leave the breakfast area with my pup. (I will mention he is a service dog and did not have a vest on). I apologized I was told there was a sign. I am new to having a service animal and so (knowing full well the laws) I asked if service dogs were allowed and her tone shifted to one of politeness to one of not so polite. The older woman who apparently is like the breakfast boss informed me that she checked and that service animals were not allowed either!! She completely lied and made up her own rule. I will be reaching out to the hotel manager to inform them all of the laws for their future knowledge.

So the used soap bar from the last guest was still in the shower, the shower gel was empty, and the room keys from the last guest were still on the cabinet by the TV. So was the room actually cleaned? Also no Kleenex just a empty box. Seriously would never stay there!!!

We’ve stayed here twice in the last month on a road trip to and from NC/MN with our golden retriever. Easy to access from the interstate, clean rooms, and good price for a dog friendly hotel. It’s not the safest area or clientele but well lit and enough foot traffic that we never felt unsafe.

For the price, the Pear Tree Inn was great. Flat pet fee of $35 regardless of the number of animals, clean, and pleasant customer service. Right off of the highway and very transient group of travelers, but it served our purpose well.
