Friendly staff & comfortable rooms.

What started out as a well below average hotel visit ended in a nightmare for our pet and us.
Sink wouldn't drain, Toilet kept running, general feeling of a hotel past it's prime.
The nightmare happened the next morning when our dog was unable to keep his balance while standing. So we rushed him off to the local Pet ER and were informed that he had THC (pot, cannabis, marijuana, whatever you want to call it) in his bloodstream and would need to be admitted and stay overnight for observation. This could only have come from something he found on the floor of the room and ate.
$400 later and one of the worst days of our lives, we have our dog back and will never stay in a La Quinta hotel again.
Plus another $150 for a hotel stay in a better property.
Pet owners beware, with cannabis being legalized in many states now this is going to become a much more frequent issue. Bring a flashlight and inspect every corner of your hotel room before letting your pet in. What looks like an innocent gummy bear or plant material on the floor could be a powerful toxin to your pet. - DanielMar 28, 2021nice

Convenient, I have stopped here several times. Staff was very nice to me and the pups. However, NOBODY was wearing a mask except me!!!

We have stayed at LQ in the past, and were very happy, however, this one seemed "tired". The decor was outdated, bed was rather soft, and linens and towels old.
It is a university town, so it probably gets rough wear.

Stayed at three LaQuinta Inns during our trip. This one ranked the highest. (The one in Radford VA was awful in every respect--even breakfast gravy was lumpy! The one in Knoxville TN had a horrible musty smell, as if they'd had a recent flood and mold was developing.) We very much appreciate that you welcome our dogs. They are good travelers, good visitors, and don't shed, but not every motel is so accommodating. My only complaint about the Lafayette location--pillows were lumpy and the blanket under the bedspread was stained, which made me question whether it had been washed after another dog's visit.

We booked a king room and it gave us extra floor space for the dog to stretch or play. Beautiful fresh decor, spotless and updated bath surprised us. Rooms have fridge and micro too. Friendly staff. Wonderful place to stay!

There wasn't anything fancy about the hotel or the room, but it was clean, our dog was happy, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Would stay here again with our pet as we pass through Lafayette. Also, there was no additional charge to have our dog in our room, but was a bonus as similar type hotels were requiring additional payment of $50-75.

I was able to find a last-minute dogsitter, so I didn't actually bring my dogs with me for this trip. However, I did still stay in the dog-friendly room that I had reserved. The room was clean and did not smell strongly of air freshener or cleaner (a good thing for dogs). The air conditioner was also in good condition. The hotel staff were friendly with people and with dogs (I saw a few interacting with a puppy in the lobby).
Although the layout of the hotel room wasn't great (the sink was outside the bathroom), I definitely think that it would have been a great place to bring your dog on a trip.
