  Good for a quick stay

  This is no frills. Simple and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again. There were other dog owners staying there too. Everything worked out well.

  Exactly what we needed

  This motel is right off the highway. We booked ahead and had a ground floor room with a wood floor. It was fresh and clean. Rooms are simple and comfortable. The grassy dog relief area was convenient to our room. We will stay here again!

  Stay away

  I stopped at this hotel based upon the reviews. As always I asked to look at a room prior to booking. The woman at the front desk refused to let me see a room saying that it was their policy not to let anyone into a room unless they paid first. Since we had been driving all day and were tired I decided to get a room. Upon entering the room it had a terrible smell. We had to spray Lysol three times to make it bearable. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and took forever to drain. The hotel itself is old, dreary and dirty.

  Dog road trip

  It was a breath of fresh air. I didn’t expect much considering we stayed at a RRI the weekend before for the same price and wasn’t even close as good as this! Traveling with dogs is hard. And a large dog as well as a small dog even harder. But this place had no extra fees. A clean room with 2 beds that smelled normal and was clean. I bring my own blankets and pillows to these places because of my own expectations. So for a good night's rest and the dogs slept all night and with my expectations for what I’m paying for - 5 bones. I would stay here again on another road trip with my dogs.

  Nice Stay!

  Priced right. Had a ground floor close to a door that was close to the dog relief area. Room was large, quiet, and spacious. A little dated, but had everything we needed to get a good nights sleep with the dogs. Convenient location to interstate and many restaurants close by. One of the better low budget dog friendly places I have stayed in. Front desk friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone traveling with dogs who need a quick place to stay.

  Great motel for traveling with a dog

  Motel was clean and kept up. The front desk lady was extremely helpful. Only complaint would be the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke - even though motel was totally non smoking. Great place for staying one night with fur baby.

  Very accommodating at check in. Have 2 large dogs and hotel clerk was very friendly. Nice room for the price.

  Think twice

  Walking up stairs carrying food cooler because there is no elevator and we were on the second floor. Very noisy in the middle of the night. Coffee cold! Pet relief areas very dirty.

  Bare bones crash for the night

  Usual Motel 6 sparseness and no cable TV. We like our coffee so we have a single Keurig and bring it with us. As far as the pet area, Kasey our Keeshond Keeshond said "Dad there's lots of people who didn't clean up after their pets." This Doggy Dad did. Coming back through in a couple weeks so we'll be prepared for it.

  Clean and Safe

  Right off I-70, well lit parking lot. Spartan, mismatched furnishings in the room and none in the common spaces, but new A/C unit in room and new sink in bathroom.

  Spartan but convenient

  The dog availability was good. The accommodation was spartan and we could smell that it had previously been a smoking room. I wouldn’t return or recommend to anyone who doesn’t smoke.

  Great area and motel!

  Richmond is a lovely area and this motel was perfect. It was right on the main strip, so it was close to gas & food. There is an amazing dog park about 5 minutes away as well! The hotel was clean and felt safe. We were able to walk our pup at night safely. Overall, great experience.

  Convient

  We hit a deer while traveling cross country and they allowed us to check on around 4am without any issue (I even forgot to call ahead). They have pet specific rooms which were near the dog “relief” areas. They were very friendly and helpful in making sure we were settled, especially since we didn’t know how long we were going to stay.

  A Great Place when travelling with pets

  This was one of the cleanest Motel 6 I have stayed at. The room was large. I liked that it had laminate floors, which made it easy to see that it was clean.

  Spartan, very clean

  The room had everything we needed although a bit spartan. I appreciated the floor covering - no carpet. No extras, no tissues but good value for the price.
