Our check-in process was incredibly long. The staff was having IT issues, not their fault really, but it took a while. Both people working the reception desk were friendly, apologetic for the inconvenience, and kept up a good sense of humor. The hotel and the furnishing is old, but everything is clean and functional. No sidewalks, but the parking lot, as well as a couple adjacent parking lot can do in a pinch. Very large empty grassy field behind the hotel for exercising, but no fence. Very good American breakfast.

We stayed at a different Holiday Inn Express the night before and it was amazing. This location however was terrible. The room was smelly, the toilet didn’t flush so we had to move rooms and the front desk lady was super rude about it. The side door was zip tied open at all times so anyone could come in if they wanted. Thankfully, it was only for 1 night but I will never return to this location.

Booked with another Holiday Inn Express the night before on our trip cross country so was expecting the same great travel experience. Front desk did not have us in a pet room. She was very bothered by our request. All 3 lampshades in our room were filthy and torn. No soap by bathroom sink. Wifi didn't work. Our room was at the back of the hotel where you needed a card to enter- it didn't work. Anyone could have entered through the back door. Very unsafe. Very disappointed in our stay.

We were driving through Kansas planning to stay in Salinas but many of the hotels there only accepted service animals. My husband found this hotel and it was great! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. They have a nice dog park on site and there is a dog park close by. The room was clean, breakfast good, no complaints. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is great! So yes the hotel is old but it is totally pet friendly and the people there are so helpful and happy to tell you about the little town. Right next to the hotel are two fenced areas that are under the Holiday Inn sign for the your dog. It even has picnic benches and is very well lit for your late night/early morning poopers :)
