If you are looking for a clean space to escape for the weekend, I strongly advise staying far away from this place. If you expect to be able to get in touch with "the Host," you'll be sorely disappointed as communication is non-existent. The cabin was disgustingly unsanitary; it seemed like the cleaning crew hadn't bothered to do their job in ages. The beds looked like someone had just rolled out of them, and the dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes. The bathroom was utterly revolting, infested with gnats swarming around. To make matters worse, dirty rags and washcloths were strewn carelessly on the bathroom shelf. An apparent leak under the sink had led to the growth of black mold, posing a serious health hazard.
Every surface was caked with thick layers of dust, clearly indicating negligence over an extended period. There wasn't even a gas grill, and the outdoor deck rails were perilously loose. The steps leading down to the pier were a safety hazard, with varying heights and a steep incline, putting anyone at risk of a dangerous fall. To top it off, the grounds and fake flower pots on the deck were covered in poison ivy, leaving us feeling unsafe and uncomfortable. The boat slip lacked cleats to secure your boat, rendering it impossible to tie our boat securely and properly. The promised boat launch and parking, supposedly less than half a mile away, turned out to be a false claim, as we had to travel at least five miles to find it.
Despite numerous attempts to reach out to "our Host" for assistance, we received no response, leaving us frustrated and unheard. It's disheartening when a host shows such indifference to their guests' concerns.
In summary, this experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly advise against booking this cabin or dealing with "the Host" in any capacity. Save yourself the disappointment and potential safety risks by seeking alternative accommodation elsewhere.
