- JackJun 2, 2024Tired & Worn
Hotel was at best 1.5 in quality/price and value. Terribly dirty and worn; needs a serious makeover. Common areas are very loud as they host functions right off the lobby and close to the rooms. Room itself was dirty and worn: carpet disgusting; AC barely working and falling out of the wall; door locks broken; smallest refrigerator I've seen since college; no microwave or coffee maker (but they were available in the lobby); bathroom fixtures were ok, but paint and drywall need to be replaced and vent fan added. Surprisingly, the ice machines worked well, and the attached restaurant 'Minute Man Grille" was good and reasonably priced. With a renovation, it could be 4 bones.
- MichelMar 26, 2024Nice stay
I accidentally booked my stay date for the wrong date but Bring Fido and Boxboro Regency customer service reps worked together to remedy the situation for me. Regarding the hotel, it's a no frills hotel but was clean and secure and our Yorkshire Terrier Skipper was happy to be with us. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was a welcomed treat because their restaurant is closed on Mondays.
- AmyFeb 16, 2023Dog friendly
We loved that Boxboro Regency was pet friendly as we needed to stay the night before an appointment we had for one of our dogs. The room and hotel could use some updating and people need to be more diligent about cleaning up after their pets outside. Our room was located in close proximity to one of the exterior doors which made it convenient to let out our senior dogs. The rates were reasonable and met our needs. We would stay again if we have a need to be in this area again.
- MarciaOct 31, 2022Pet tolerant, dated property
This property is barely pet tolerant. Their list of pet rules - not on the bed, in crate with plastic under the crate, the room location - indicates that they are only pet tolerant. The parking lot was huge and bordered by trees. It provides an excellent place to walk your dog in the daylight. Numerous lights were not working. They told me not to walk my dog at the rear of the property.
Where was my room - at the rear of the property. I was near an exit door; however, the key pad was removed. The other convenient door was blocked due to construction. So don't walk your pet here because of a chemical plant - but that is where we will stash you and your dog. Remember pet tolerant.
The room was three long hallways from the main entrance. It took forever to push my cart with all our stuff down these hallways. Music blasts on the outside of the main entrance - annoying 80's music. Turn it off. No morning coffee. The restaurant doesn't open until 7 AM. I went to a donut shop. The final straw was mold along the base of the bathtub. I did not shower that morning. I could not get myself and my dog out of the building fast enough. Don't stay here.
- SteveSep 11, 2022Large room and perfect
Handicapped accessible, a patio door direct to pool and ramp to restaurant. Great for patches too! Long hallways to chase a tennis ball. Terrific front desk. Hotel "shows some pet wear" in hallways but overall five bones for us.
- GeorgeJul 11, 2022Great stay
Huge hotel. A little dated but clean throughout and very friendly staff! Would definitely stay again.
- JoanJun 22, 2022Very dog and cat friendly
Located in an area with open space of grass, parking, and woods. Reasonable rates, easy off and on from main road. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very good food. I overheard one patron saying the food was just as good as any upscale restaurant. I have to agree. The restaurant is open for later in the day for dinner. The kitchen is open in the morning till mid afternoon for takeout breakfast and lunch. This time around I had the breakfast sandwich and it was about the best I have ever had.
I haven't used the pool located in the spacious atrium yet but it is nice to have the option and very pretty area to sit and relax. There are rooms assigned specifically for 'pets with people' and I believe they must all be in one section of the hotel. The room; good water pressure and usual bath supplies. Clean bedding and room. Good television connection. We used this as a stop over on the way to visit the New England Arboretum which is just 20 minutes away and also dog friendly...selling both human and dog tickets :) Makes a nice getaway weekend.
- JoyceNov 14, 2021Not My Favorite Night
The hallway where my room was smelled like a sewer pit. It was awful. The sheets were so pilled, they were itchy and uncomfortable. The toilet ran all night. Let them know how miserable it was and recommended they get a plumber. They offered a free breakfast, The breakfast was mediocre but appreciated the effort on their part. They do allow dogs and treated my girls very well!
