"This is an absolute gem of a place! The setting is stunning, the home itself is beautiful and inviting. All of the details that the owners thought through made our stay so comfortable and easy. We were a group of 7 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs and we all felt as though we had enough space to really relax and we also loved the way the living/dining room allowed us all to connect in such an easy way - miraculous! We will definitely be going back to this incredible place!"
— A very satisfied guest from August 2022.
Our beautiful mountain home is just five minutes down the road from the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, with peaceful Bear Creek running right through our backyard. With modern LED lighting, gigabit ethernet, premium bedding, and loads of amenities and thoughtful touches, you can relax in style and comfort.
We take pride in providing an inclusive, accessible vacation rental, and we'd love to help you and your guests have a great time in Tahoe. We welcome all guests—groups of friends, families with kids of all ages, persons with disabilities or adaptive needs, older adults, and groups with dogs. Atmosphere
The chalet's pine paneling, mid-century cabin accents, and plush furnishings create a cozy and luxurious atmosphere. The high cathedral ceilings and an entire wall of windows create a bright and open living area with unobstructed views of the mountains and creek.
The decor reflects the history of the region, the house, and its occupants, with antique skis and trail maps, lovingly-restored mid-century lamps and fixtures, and unique, personal touches, like a firehouse ladder placed by the former owner—a firefighter. The chalet's clean, mid-century lines combine seamlessly with its modern amenities. High-quality, warm LED lighting is everywhere: from our vintage lamps and hand-restored sconces to the modern bedside lamp-tables with Qi chargers built-in. Permanent fixtures can be adjusted with dimmer switches, and at night the chalet's lighting is easy on the eyes, warm, and inviting. Parking & Entrance
Our 8-car parking pad is flat and level—not a scary, icy hill. Cars can park four-across, so there's not a lot of shuffling cars around to make a path. The front entrance is about 25 feet away, along path with a very gentle slope. The path is gravel and wide enough to accommodate luggage and gear.
Main (Middle) Floor
From the covered entryway, you enter the large mudroom. There is a place for your shoes, cubbies for gear, a mini-fridge, and a recycling station. Continuing into the main living space, you'll be right next to the fully-equipped, modern kitchen with a Viking range, a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, and an LG refrigerator with an ice maker. The kitchen opens onto the dining room, where you can't miss our custom-built table that seats 20!
The adjoining sunroom is one of our favorite spaces. You can chill and chat with people at the dining table or on the deck, relax in the purple chair and read a book, or you can watch some TV or stream via AirPlay/Chromecast. As a bonus, we subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, ESPN+, and Disney+, so be sure to watch at our place if you don't subscribe at home.
Outside the sunroom door is our deck, which overlooks Bear Creek in our backyard. We especially love the deck at sunset, when Juniper Mountain begins to glow and the valley quiets down for the evening. If it gets cool, the propane heaters will keep you warm for stargazing or chatting late into the night.
The grand central staircase separates the dining room from the living room, where you'll find our cozy wood stove, our lending library, and an ample gathering space that's perfect for groups.
On this level, you'll also find the Alpine bedroom with a king-size bed and a floor-to-ceiling window that glows in the mornings with the most beautiful golden light.
Next to this bedroom is a full bath, with a stall shower, plenty of fluffy, 100% cotton towels, and luxurious, natural, and cruelty-free toiletries. Upstairs
The upper level has four bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths. Two of the upstairs bedrooms are outfitted with king beds, one with a queen bed, and the bunk room sleeps six on its queen-over-queen bunk bed with a queen-size trundle!
The powder room is spacious, and the bathroom has plenty of storage for the group's toiletries, with a combined shower and tub perfect for bathing little ones or pets.
You are never far from the action from the second story, as the "hallway" is essentially a lofted balcony above the main living area. On this floor, you'll find thoughtful touches throughout, like accessible places to charge your phone, makeup towels, and extra blankets. Downstairs
Continuing down to the chalet's lower floor, you'll find a hallway lined with vintage ski photography leading to two bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and a twin-size bunk bed - perfect for families who prefer to be nearby during the night. The second bedroom sports a king bed, a fabulous vintage dresser, and Ansel Adams photography.
The laundry room is also on this level, with its truly unique amenity, a ski tuning station, and a full bathroom with a stall shower.
