Older hotel. Very pet friendly but absolutely no outside area to take your dog. Just had to use the parking lot.

I was not expecting this to be right in the downtown area but it was. It is on a one-way street so it was a little tricky to get to (we saw the upstairs part on one street and had to go around the block to get to the lobby and parking area). The room was clean but the hotel is older and it shows. Dogs are not allowed on the elevator (it is a large hotel and only one elevator) so if you or your dog have issues with stairs, I suggest you book elsewhere. There is no potty area for the dog but was just a block off the riverfront park so that is where you can walk your dog.

Nice room, had a good breakfast. Coffee in the room was awful. The hotel was fully booked so no parking was available; we had to park in the public parking next to hotel. Had coffee, tea, water, and cookies available at the front desk.

Convenient to downtown restaurants and the waterfront park is just down the street. Good place for a 2 to 3 night stay.

The stay was comfortable, but somewhat inconvenient with the stairs leading up to the second floor. There was not a view to the outside from the room, however, there was a nice park about 2 blocks away, close to the water. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a nice cheese omelette, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee, and tables to sit at. The attendant that served breakfast was very friendly.

We planned a last minute trip to Houghton & this hotel was one of the very few dog-friendly hotels in the area. They obviously were accommodating to our dog (though no nearby grass for bathroom breaks — we had to head down to the portage), but the room was extremely overpriced, especially for the condition of the hotel. We lived in Houghton for 7 years, so we know the area well & understand it’s not the “newest” town, but one night here was the equivalent to one month's rent living right downtown, above the KBC.

Very clean hotel room. It was very tight between the beds and walking past the desk. You do need to walk 2 blocks to the grassy park to walk the dog. They have dog-friendly rooms, but when they sell out-they still accept people traveling with dogs if they have rooms available. Right in downtown.

This hotel is located right in downtown Houghton so you can walk everywhere. There’s no great grassy area for dogs right outside the hotel but you’re only about a block from a lakeside park! The staff were friendly and the hotel is clean!

Website did not indicate pet policy that unattended animals may not be left in room. This changed our plans quite significantly; had we been aware of this policy, we would have stayed at Holiday Inn Express.
