- DyanSep 7, 2022Wanted to love it but was treated poorly
We kept smelling urine in our room. We talked to the front desk to see if we could get a new filter for the A/C or something. Front desk agent met us at our room, and instantly told us that it didn’t smell like urine, that there were “a lot of smells in there” and then suggested that it was our perfume (urine scented?) and that if we didn’t like it we could leave. My husband calmed him down by explaining we just wanted to let them know that we were smelling something and if we could come to some solution and that he came in way too hot.
Finally, after accusing us of smelling and asking us to leave, he acquiesced and said if we moved everything out of the room and let them do a full ozone clean then we could come back. I didn’t want to have to do all this and our friend that was also staying there had some essential oils that sort of drown out the urine smell. We declined his “offer” and didn’t even mention the blood stain on the comforter for fear of being thrown out for another complaint.
They also told us that the ice machine was broken, but when our friends arrived the next day, they were told that’s it was broken but there was still some ice and to “get it while you can”. So disappointed; had such high hopes for this place. the female employees were professional and kind. Guy was aggressive, combative and rude. Very upsetting and not an experience a person should ever have to deal with at a resort they are paying for.

The room was clean and spacious, good if you are just staying one night. Be prepared to take your pet with you if you leave because pets may not be left unattended in the room. It was raining when we arrived and there were no restaurants that had covered outdoor seating where we could bring our dog with us to eat dinner, had to get takeout. If the weather is good, then it's not a huge problem but if you are looking for a little time away, forget about it. Also, walls are paper thin, so if you have loud neighbors, like the 3 drunkards in the room next to us, you will hear everything. I would say this place is more dog tolerant than dog friendly, so something to keep in mind.

Parkside setting with plenty of green space for dog walks. Outdoor seating under trees and gazebos is very convenient for takeout dining.

Love the large yard area to walk dogs! Perfect that’s it’s one level so even when my Sadie need to go out at 2:30 am. Walking trail right across the street. Updated nicely. I’ll return.

Grounds great for 4 legged friend, and summer activities. Bonfire pits were awesome! We had the Jr suite which accommodated us comfortably. Room was very clean! Bed and pillows are awesome! Shower is nice and large, the room was updated but in need of some
minor repairs. I was disappointed that due to COVID they aren’t doing maid service or continental breakfast. They were very good at exchanging towels, and providing replacements for anything we needed by setting on chair outside. - S&eJun 14, 2020Dog Acceptable
Pet fee $26.50. Property was so cute, and just a 5 minute drive from downtown. Coffee shops (Biggby and a local place) on either side, just a short drive away. Outdoor pool (heated!) and hot tub. Room was nicely renovated. Fire pits, ladder ball, horseshoes, volleyball, & hammocks all in public area... but pertaining to 4 legged friends: I would say more dog “acceptable” rather than dog “friendly”. Check in staff was incredibly nice, with the exception of a man who was very rude about our dog before we even got our room key. I saw him make several rude comments/accusations to other patrons as well, which was disappointing for such a great hidden gem. Could have just been a bad couple of days, but I don’t know if we’ll choose the same location again because of this.
