This is a real find. Yes, it is budget, but it's a nice place. The room was beautifully decorated, in bright Route 66 style! Really nice and comfortable. The nicest thing is that we arrived when really bad weather was anticipated. After dodging rain all day, one of the first things my hostess told me is that in the event of a tornado, they alert everyone by phone and we all go down to the basement. She assured me right away that we would be safe. I really appreciated that. The other really enjoyable feature here is that it is across the street from a small lake where people walk pets and fish. So beautiful. This is a real find and if you are a Route 66 traveler, this is the place to stay. Nice continental breakfast provided, and they were good to both me and my pug. I would stay again.

This is a very cute older but kept up motel right on historic Route 66 and is decorated nostalgically. It's right on a busy road but there is a large area in the front that is bordered by tall hedges all around that's great for dogs, plus there is a park with a lake right next door. The area is dark at night but the motel grounds are very well lit, although I was disappointed to find the bright front lighting wasn't on all night. My dog was very happy here!
