  Very nice hidden dog area.

  Very nice place. Nice room. Very clean. Very comfortable. At first I was concerned about the apparent meager dog area, but then I discovered the hidden courtyard. Lush grass, seating area with comfortable chairs and fire pits. Best dog area I’ve seen. When we checked in the woman at the front desk told me we would like the breakfast. She wasn’t just whistling in the wind! Best breakfast of the trip. Fresh cooked eggs (not that spongy stuff) lots of variety. Build your own burrito, biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausage (links and patties). I would definitely stay here again.

  Disappointed

  After prepaying and reserving a king room with Jacuzzi, my disappointment was not getting the Jacuzzi. It was given to someone else, even though it was available when I called and I was asked to pre-pay. And it was confirmed and I had a confirmation number. The hotel blamed me for using a third-party to reserve. I’m definitely disappointed. Hotel did refund the difference.

  We stayed one night on the way home. This La Quinta is probably the best we have used so far. The facility seems new. The room was clean and the bed was firm yet very comfy. The hotel staff are friendly. There are plenty of tables and chair for people to use in the lobby area, which is bright. Best of all, my little dog stayed for free :-)

  Great outside dog area

  First time taking our dog with us on vacation. Our stay was comfortable, staff was accommodating for our dog. Lots of other guests with furry family members who were friendly. The outside area was very nice and our pet enjoyed walking around the enclosed space. We enjoyed our stay.

  Great place for dogs

  The room was very spacious and newly painted. The bathroom was huge and the bed was super comfy. The dog area was enclosed and allowed for plenty of place to walk. I would stay there again. Bonus was an attached restaurant with great pizza.

  Great stay

  We needed a room just to sleep to break up our drive. We were only there 12 hours. The service was friendly. The room was clean and easily accessible to the outside for our dog. Coffee and breakfast were available early in the morning so we could get on the road early. What I appreciated most was that there was an accidental double charge on the room which appeared to be a technical glitch at the time of booking, and they refunded this when they found out. We would stay here again.

  Great place!

  This was our third time staying at this Joplin, MO property. The only drawback to this stay was that we were placed on the 3rd floor, away from the (beautiful) pet yard. Will that keep us from coming back? No. But I will definitely request first floor next time. I recommend staying here with your pet. Nice, friendly folks, and Old Chicago pizza was tasty.

  While this location is on a busy street with nowhere to walk that isn’t pavement, there is a lovely, large enclosed dog area with grass and trees. Bonus Starbucks is right next door!

  Hotel was nice with spacious rooms. Patrons with dogs are on the ground level making it easy to go out. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is very nice; best I’ve encountered since Covid.

  It’s clean but the “dog run/space” is in the middle of the hotel courtyard and not separately fenced so you cannot let them off leash. Also the dog owners are not cleaning up after their dogs and the hotel isn’t either so there were loads of poop piles to try to avoid. Rooms were clean however with vinyl flooring. And no pet fee. But we won’t return to this location.

  Best hotel on our road trip

  Joplin, MO was an unplanned stop on our trip home to Colorado. Fantastic location off highway and surrounded by restaurants. NO additional pet fee and reasonable nightly rates. The hotel had a beautiful courtyard with well manicured grass and poop bag stations, a pool with lounging areas outside of it with fire pits, gas grills, and lovely landscaping. The rooms and all facilities appeared to be newly updated. The hotel was also connected to Old Chicago restaurant where I had a delicious calzone and my husband had lasagna for dinner. And the included breakfast was the best we’d had, with 2 types of eggs, 2 types of sausage (though bacon would have been my preference), refried beans, freshly made pico de gallo and fresh cut fruit! Directly next door was a Starbucks to get our beverages before heading out for a road trip home. As we travel back east next fall. we will be sure to come back through Joplin and stay at this hotel!!

  This was a nice big place! The room accommodated us and our 2 dogs just fine! There was a pet relief area in the open area by the pool with bags and garbage cans. There was a restaurant on premises which was perfect after a day of driving! We definitely recommend and would stay here again!

  Huge hotel, recent updates

  This is an enormous La Quinta and was very busy when we were there, with quite a bit of noise. Luckily, we were upgraded to a suite and were able to shut an extra door to block some noise. There was not enough light in the suite and the setup was a little odd, but they were in the midst of renovations, so may not have been completely finished yet. It was great to have updates and fresh paint. We appreciated that there was no pet fee. La Quinta used to be our go to since they allowed pets without fees, but that no longer seems to be the case at many of their locations. Well lit parking lot, convenient to food and lovely front desk staff.

  Not my favorite

  We have stayed at several La Quintas and this one is just too much. They have so many rooms on one level that all look the same, you get lost or end up carrying your suitcase half a mile. The walls were thin, we could hear neighboring people and pets. With the distance you have to walk your dogs to outside it just isn’t very pet friendly. I usually like La Quinta but not this one.

  We loved this hotel! Beautiful room, all the amenities- pool, hot tub, great restaurant next door, amazing location next to Starbucks. Car wash and shops super close! Staff were extremely friendly, the hotel was safe. We would definitely return!

  This is the nicest pet-friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed at! They have a beautiful, large courtyard that’s private, so I had no fear for my safety when I took my dog out late at night. No additional pet fee. Simply excellent!!

  The hotel has been completely renovated. The outdoor courtyard and pool area is very nice for relaxing with your dog. It even has grills. The room was clean and the staff is very pet friendly. The only downside is the sketchy WiFi.

  This hotel has a privacy fenced recreation area with very large grass area, bbq, seating area and fenced pool. Dogs can be left in the room so we enjoyed the attached restaurant for dinner and the breakfast buffet downstairs in the morning. Room was large, comfortable king bed, and clean bathroom. Mini fridge and ice machine made it easy to store and tote open dog food cans.

  Checked in early evening and given a room on lower level next to ice maker and elevators. In addition the laminate flooring had separated and come loose -- great to trip on. Told front desk that evening and not offered a new room???

  The beds were great. They could not accommodate our first floor request but promised an elevator which was locked the next morning. We are both disabled so this posed quite a problem with getting our bags and bodies out.

  Great location. Love the inner courtyard

  This was a good place to stop. There was a fully fenced inner courtyard with grass I could walk my dogs and clean up after them. This is where the pool is so I had to keep them leashed but that was fine. I enjoyed their safety. That said I was told starting June 1st they are instituting pet fees. Not having one is why I chose them. Now La Quinta is just like all the others.

  This hotel is very large. There is a Chicago style pizzeria attached. We arrived late, so didn’t get to try it. Our room was very clean, the shower was just a little stained, but not terrible. Really nice outdoor gathering areas.

  This stay was good but not great. The previous night we stayed another hotel recommended on this app and it was great. Lots of convenient green space that was clean ( no poop in grass)with poop bags available. That wasn’t the case here. The rooms were clean, everyone was nice but need a little work on convenience for dogs.

  We passed through Joplin on a recent cross country trip with our tow Westie dogs. On the upside, this location of LaQuinta was easy to get to, had many rooms and we were given one on the first floor with easy access to the door. On the flip side, this location meant it was very busy and popular with truckers so people were coming and going and it was a bit noisy for our taste. The room itself was newly remodeled with a laminate wood floor so no pet smells, which was great. However, it was so newly remodeled that there was not even a picture on the wall so it seems quite spartan. The large refrigerator was appreciated and worked well. There is a lot of potential for the grounds which are in the middle of a renovation. It looks like there will be a nice fire pit area with soft furniture soon and it is adjacent to a large pet relief area. Clean up bags are generously provided although they are little small and we have small dogs!
  Staff was nice but could have had more people cleaning up the dirty parking lot and overflowing garbage bins. A big plus was the attached Old Chicago restaurant which made it so easy to pop down and pick up some take away food. They would even deliver to the room if desired.

  Wouldn’t Do It Again

  Hotel is currently being remodeled which is a puzzle in itself. From our hallway, where all the dogs are, you have to go from the 1st floor particular elevator to the 3rd floor, then take another set of elevators to the 2nd floor 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️, . In addition, they put everyone with a dog in one hallway with extremely thin walls. So one dog barks or leaves their room and AALLLLL the dogs in the rooms in the hallway are letting everyone know about it. I was out 3-4 times and couldn’t find the relief area, it’s slightly intimidating in the dark wandering around looking for the relief area and having to cross the street to use the area across the way. I’m convinced the guy I encountered was only polite because of my doberman’s.

  The restaurant and bar are very convient, but if you order a pizza to take back to your room, they don’t have paper plates for you, or extra condiments.

  Pretty fancy place with the remodels, and probably very nice if you are on any other floor, but for dog owners not great.

  Kinda torn on this one, very convenient big empty space in lot to side was fabulous for the doggy business. Also there was a restaurant attached so did not have to venture out for food after a day on the road so another plus. Lobby gorgeous. Room was all gray and dark wood, no art, dark floor. Felt like a cave. The closet was inside the bathroom, so very inconvenient. Too soft beds. Fine for one night but glad we were not there for a longer stay.

  What an Armpit

  Current renovations in progress so maybe it will improve. If you have a dog you will be sent to the basement level about 1/4 mile from the front desk. Air conditioner runs when it wants to regardless of how you set the tstats (one on the unit and one on the wall). A/c units above every exterior door dripping water on you and making the walkways dangerous. Cheap homemade darkening shade broke when we tried to use it. Spend an extra $30 and stay across the street at the Drury.

  Good Experience

  Clean room and a quiet stay. The bed made a loud thump-like noise when I got up or sat down on it like something was out of alignment with the frame or something. It wasn't that big of a deal except our dog thought it was a knock at the door every time that happened so he'd either growl or bark at it. There wasn't a good place to walk our dog, but there was a little strip just over the curb of the parking lot that at least got the job done. I'd stay here again, but hopefully they'll fix the bed frame first. ;)

  Calm And Quiet

  I was traveling alone with my newly adopted dog who is very scared and reactive with new places and people The staff here were super accommodating with my requests for a ground floor and quiet part of the hotel. There’s a nice grassy area for the dogs and it’s far enough away from the highway that the noise isn’t overwhelming.
