We checked in on a Monday evening and after driving 17 hours, we were looking for a good night's sleep, but we got anything but that. The first room we were give was filthy from another guest and was SO ridiculously loud at that time of night. People were telling, kids running up and down the hotel. Notified the front desk and the next room, I saw a huge German cockroach, my very worst fear. I froze, threw one of m my hubby's chucks at it, jumped up on the bed cried my eyes out and decided to sleep in my car. I didn't go back to the room until around 10am. As my husband went to the bathroom and turned on the light and saw another roach behind the toilet and then once more on the desk area where our food was. I notified the front desk right away, she apologetically gave us another room and told is if we don't like the room, let her know.

The hotel is pretty run down and dirty but very close to Forest Park.

This older hotel has been updated in some respects — for example, the bed linens, pillows and mattress were very nice. However, the carpets are old, and the parking lot and small grass areas have lots of trash strewn about. They were fine with our two dogs.
