We spent 1 night with our dog. The hotel was quiet and the dog rest area was great (sure would be nice fenced). The best part was we left our dog dish and dog food but housekeeping turned it in and my brother was able to pick it up. The room was fine.

Clean room and quiet but room needed maintenance. Glass closet door of the hinge; toilet tank ran; shower handle almost off. But nice big room and friendly staff. Not worth the price we paid on a Saturday.

If you're traveling with your dog and want to be close to Downtown Asheville (5 min drive) and can deal with a basic old school motel, just book this place. Rooms are modestly updated. Everything was super clean. Ned was comfy. Room has fridge and microwave. Breakfast was fine. Helpful friendly staff. Our only real complaint was the room had a noticeable musty odor that we got used to, but always smacked us in the face when returning to the room. Our pet room had carpeted floors which was a little icky, but there were no noticeable stains. Breakfast was good with lots of options. We will stay here again the next time our travels include Asheville as it was an overall pleasant experience!

Dog friendly visit for us this summer! Clean and spacious room for two humans and 60 lb doggo. Great price, breakfast each morning in the lobby, nice dog walk area. Close to every tree wanted! Downtown and Blue ridge parkway we’re just a few miles away!

Great, no frills place with very responsive staff. I called ahead to book a lower level room which wasn’t ready when we arrived at check in but they placed us in another lower level room. Recommend Rooms 109/108 closest to dog park. Close to Parkway and Downtown loop too.

The Best Western Tunnel Road was nice. The beds were comfortable and it was very, very clean. We had a corner 1st floor room that was quite. They have a good grass area for doggies. We will consider staying there again if we come back to Asheville.

What a rip-off. I got a good deal on the room through a 3rd party but with two dogs that adds 40 bucks a night so in the end it was over 100. My dogs are two 14-year-olds who just sleep all the time. And during COVID there was NO room cleaning for "stayovers." That meant I was paying an extra 40 a night...for what, exactly? I had to chase down housekeeping so I could replenish my own toilet paper & trash bags. My squeaky-clean dogs slept on their own beds & sheets (which I brought) & ate out of their own bowls on their own towels (which I brought), & entered by stepping onto a small mat (which I brought), for which service I paid THEM 40 bucks a night. Breakfast was a joke. A small bottle of water (who drinks water for breakfast??? At a hundred bucks a night you'd think they could spring for some orange juice at least), a small piece of fruit, & a tiny muffin in a lunch bag. Ridiculous. They had a laundry facility, but $3.50 for a normal-sized load, and 2 bucks for a small candy bar are just flat-out gouging. But here's the worst part: I wrote all this up & sent it to BW when they sent me a follow-up email asking "how was your stay?" Well I can tell you that they don't really want to know. I got an email back from the "general manager" that was basically the exact same form letter you read on every review site: "Sorry we did not exceed your expectations...hope you have a better experience next time...yadda yadda." NEXT TIME??? Boy, that's presumptious. I wrote back telling him how disgraceful it was not to address my actual complaint, & the form-letter response was so pathetic & obvious. The *real* response was "We don't really care what you thought of our place & have no intention of improving it, but this is a chance for you to get it off your chest even though nothing at all will come of it." In other words, f--- u.
During non-COVID, if they do clean rooms & provide breakfast, I'd add one bone because the room was large & didn't have carpet. There was a grassy area behind the buildings that was kind of enclosed & nice for the dogs, but the doggie bag dispenser was empty every day we were there. I bring my own but lots of people don't, so there was dogdudu everywhere.
Also there was something strange with the ventilation or something. In the morning the condensation on the insides of the windows was so heavy I'd wipe it down with a large bath towel & the towel would be sopping wet.
So in the end a $40-a-night pet fee is just a way to keep dogs out of the motel while trying to get dog owners' money. It's not "dog-friendly," and dogs aren't "welcome" -- you & your dog are tolerated at best. I'd bet a paycheck my dogs are cleaner & more well-behaved than any infant, who stays free. - Lee annMay 15, 2020Put me in a furthest possible room .

It is amazing. They have pet policy where you can't leave your dog inside the room by themselves after 6pm and they will charge $50 if there is a complaint of excessive barking. However, we don't care much about the policy because we bring our fur babies everywhere we go. They never been leaving alone inside the room unattended. Since they not allowed pet in the lobby area and breakfast area, my husband and I took a turn having breakfast. Which is a great idea for us because we decided to have this trip with our fur babies,we not intent to leave them at all. The room doesn't have carpet (it is a good thing). And all the room that allowed pet is on the ground floor. I gave four stars instead of five because we had issue with the housekeeping (they don't do a great job - only make up half of the room. Not sure whether they are really in rush). Overall, we plan to go there again soon!

Very clean, comfortable room. It did not smell at all. The bed had nice linens. The door leads out to a common balcony and a steep staircase that takes you to the ground floor. No elevator. I travel by myself with my dog and had a larger suitcase which was hard to lug up and down the steps. The hotel is right on a busy road but there is a small open area in the rear for the dogs to relieve themselves. Not big enough to play or exercise. There is a large cement drainage ditch in the middle that I would not want my pup around if he was off-leash. I would stay there again (packed a smaller suitcase or get a ground-floor room)as it is Asheville and there are plenty of other places to let your pup exercise!
