I've stayed here many times. The staff can be curt or friendly but they usually warm up if you are nice and genuine. The rooms are basic. The breakfast is basic. The area for dogs to relieve themselves is very small but Asheville is a very dog friendly place so that’s not too much of a problem. Location is awesome. Some mentioned homeless people - that’s EVERYWHERE in downtown Asheville. Great music, food, beer all within a short walk. I’ve never felt unsafe here. Street noise can be anything from nonexistent to loud and raucous.

This hotel is a joke and I can’t believe it is on BringFido’s list. Sleeping homeless people in front sidewalk. Panhandlers on every corner. Bums fighting in the street. I was fearful for my life!

Great location if you want to be in the center of downtown Asheville where it all happens. The hotel does not look like much from the outside but the rooms are clean and perfect for traveling with pets. Only recommendation I have is to arrive before 6 pm to make sure you get a parking place in their very small and tight parking lot.

You get what you pay for! This place was awful and I would never stay there again. It was just under $100 a night but the front desk was rude upon check in. Our first room had a spot on the carpet with a powdery substance on it ( I assume a cleaner ) I didn’t want my dog to be blamed so we called
And asked them to Change our room or send someone to clean it up. We did change to the next door room. The worst part was there was not a shred of grass anywhere on the property. You had to take your dog across the street to a bank parking lot ( I’m sure they appreciated that) when we asked at the front desk where we could go she said I don’t know. There is a park down the road but she didn’t know how far. If I could give it 0 bones I would. This place isn’t even people friendly let alone pet friendly. - JillJun 10, 2020Downtown location

We had a great time staying at Downtown Inn & Suites! You really could not ask for a better location for downtown Asheville. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful and the included parking is a rare find in downtown. I have a RAV4 SUV and had no problem at all with the parking lot - and there were lots of larger pickup trucks and minivans that seemed to fit just fine, too.
It is a great value and we would definitely stay here again!

The location is perfect for all South Slope Breweries. It's older, it's not very quiet, but it's cheap. So if you can put up with an older building and some noise, it's easily worth it. Try for a room on the pool side if you are concerned about noise.
